Emergency! is an American television series that combines the medical drama and action-adventure genres. It was produced by Mark VII Limited and distributed by Universal Studios. It debuted as a midseason replacement on January 15, 1972, on NBC, replacing the short-lived series The Good Life, and ran until September 3, 1977, with several more made-for-TV movies during the 1978–1979 season. Emergency! was created and produced by Jack Webb and Robert Cinader, both of whom were also responsible for the police dramas Adam-12 and Dragnet. The show focuses on paramedics John Gage and Roy... DeSoto of the Los Angeles County Fire Department's Station 51 , and the hospital emergency room staff Dr. Kelly Brackett, Nurse Dixie McCall and Dr. Joe Early with whom the paramedics work to save lives. It was also the first show to feature paramedics who help rescue victimized or hurt patients.
