Eriq La Salle is an American actor and director, known for his portrayals of Darryl in the 1988 comedy film Coming to America and Dr. Peter Benton on the NBC drama series ER. La Salle, one of four children, was born and raised in Hartford, Connecticut by his mother, Ada Haynes. La Salle studied at... Juilliard for two years, then moved on to New York University's Graduate Acting Program in 1984, but did not complete either degree. After leaving school, he was cast in the first of several productions for Joseph Papp's Shakespeare in the Park theater company. Soon after, he found continuous acting work on Broadway, off-Broadway and in the daytime TV drama One Life to Live as reporter Mike Rivers. In 1988 Eriq starred in Eddie Murphy's breakthrough movie Coming to America. He played Lisa's 'slick' and obnoxious boyfriend Darryl with an even slicker 'Soul Glo' haircut. In 1994 the medical drama ER premiered on NBC with La Salle starring as Dr. Peter Benton. He held the role until leaving during the eighth season. In 2009, La Salle returned to ER for two episodes during its 15th and final season.

Anthony Charles Edwards is an American actor and director. He has appeared in various movies and television shows, including Fast Times at Ridgemont High, Top Gun, Zodiac, Revenge of the Nerds, Northern Exposure and ER. Edwards was born in Santa Barbara, California, the son of Erika Planck , an... artist/landscape painter, and Peter Edwards, an architect. He has two older sisters, Heidi and Ann-Marie, and two older brothers, Peter and Jeffrey. Edwards was encouraged by his parents to attend college before pursuing his interest in acting. He received a scholarship to the Royal Academy of Dramatic Arts in England and studied theatre at University of Southern California but by the age of nineteen was being offered enough acting work to enable him to leave college. Edwards' early work includes a co-starring role in the TV series It Takes Two with Richard Crenna and Patty Duke Astin as his parents and Helen Hunt as his sister. His first starring role was in the 1984 comedy Revenge of the Nerds as Gilbert Lowe, though he had a tiny part in the 1982 film Fast Times at Ridgemont High, credited as "stoner Bud".

Laura Elizabeth Innes is an American actress and director, probably best known for her role as Dr. Kerry Weaver on ER, and most recently, as Sophia on the NBC thriller The Event. Innes was introduced to professional theater by her father, who frequently took the family to the Stratford Festival of... Canada in Stratford, Ontario. Following his advice to "do what you love", she attended Northwestern University where she was a member of the Alpha Chi Omega sorority and earned a degree in theater. Her first stage credits were in Chicago at the renowned Goodman Theatre and Wisdom Bridge Theatre, where she played Stella in "A Streetcar Named Desire". John Malkovich played Mitch in this production. Other major stage credits include Two Shakespearean Actors with Eric Stoltz at Lincoln Center, Our Town at the Seattle Repertory Theatre, and Three Sisters at the La Jolla Playhouse in San Diego. In 1986, Innes played the young daughter of Jerry Stiller and Anne Meara in the short-lived television sitcom The Stiller and Meara Show, but the series was canceled within a few weeks.

Gloria Reuben is a Canadian singer and actress of film and television, known for her role as Jeanie Boulet on the popular medical drama ER and for her role of Rosalind Whitman in the TV show Raising the Bar. Reuben was born in Toronto to a classical singer mother and an architect father. Her... father is White Canadian and her mother is Jamaican. Reuben is the half-sister of Denis Simpson, an actor and children's television host who died in 2010. She began learning piano as a child and studied later music technique and theory, ballet and jazz at the Canadian Royal Conservatory. Her career as an actress was triggered by a few jobs as a model and TV ad appearances. Reuben is known for her role on the American television series ER as Jeanie Boulet, an HIV-positive physician assistant on the hospital's staff. She was a guest star throughout Season 1 and was elevated to full-time cast member at the beginning of Season 2. She continued that role until early Season 6, when she left the show. In 2008, Reuben returned to ER for one episode during its 14th season. She has stated that this role led to her HIV/AIDS activism.
