The Millcreek Mall or Millcreek Mall Complex is a one-level shopping center located 3.4 miles southwest of downtown Erie, Pennsylvania, between Peach... Street and Interstate 79, in Millcreek Township. The center is often cited as being the third-largest shopping mall in the United States. The complex opened in 1975 and was developed by the Youngstown, Ohio-based Cafaro Company, who still own and operate it. Due to Pennsylvania's lack of sales tax on clothing, the Millcreek Mall attracts many visitors from Ohio, New York and Canada. Presently, the mall proper houses 121 store spaces, with 12 kiosks. The 175 store and restaurants figure often cited includes stores within the physical mall and its many peripheral restaurants, stores and strip plazas. The mall's original anchor stores included Boston Store, Halle's, JCPenney, Kaufmann's and Carlisle's and Sears. Boston Store became Horne's in 1979, which in turn closed and became Lazarus in 1994. Lazarus closed this anchor in 1997. Halle's later became a Dahlkemper's catalog showroom, which closed in 1993. Its space became Burlington Coat Factory. HomePlace took the former Carlisle's location after Carlisle's closure in 1995.

The Bayfront Convention Center is a convention center complex located in Erie, Pennsylvania. The center, which has views of Presque Isle Bay from... three sides, includes a 28,800-square-foot Great Hall with a seating capacity of 4,500, and a 13,500-square-foot Grand Ballroom. The attached hotel is a Sheraton. The center held an open house beginning on August 3, 2007. Local promotion continued with public tours during the annual Celebrate Erie festival 17-19 August 2007. The attached hotel opened on April 10, 2008. Construction manager, Barton Malow completed the construction of this project which won the 2008 Build America Award from the Associated General Contractors of America.

The Bicentennial Tower is an observation tower located in Erie, Pennsylvania and features panoramic views of Lake Erie, Presque Isle State Park, and... downtown Erie. The tower was built to signify the city's bicentennial year 1996. It is 187 feet tall and has 2 observation decks. It's located at the end of State Street on Dobbins Landing.

Mary Lynn Ann Burns , better known as Marilyn Burns, is an American actress, best known for her roles in the horror cult films The Texas Chain Saw... Massacre , and Eaten Alive . She is also known for portraying Linda Kasabian in the three time Emmy nominatied miniseries Helter Skelter . Burns was born in Erie, Pennsylvania, and raised in Houston, Texas. She always had an interest in the arts. During seventh grade, she appeared in a musical production of A Midsummer Night's Dream. In 1970, she made her first film appearance in the Robert Altman movie Brewster McCloud . Burns attended the University of Texas at Austin and graduated from there with a degree in Drama in 1971. Burns was cast in Lovin' Molly but was replaced by Susan Sarandon. Burns stayed on as a stand-in for Saradon and Blythe Danner. She also had a small part in George Roy Hill's The Great Waldo Pepper , where she helped cast some of the film's extras.

Henry "Harry" Thacker Burleigh , a baritone, was an African American classical composer, arranger, and professional singer. He was the first black... composer to be instrumental in the development of a characteristically American music and he helped to make black music available to classically-trained artists both by introducing them to the music and by arranging the music in a more classical form. Burleigh was born in Erie, Pennsylvania. With the aid of a scholarship , Burleigh was accepted to the prestigious National Conservatory of Music in New York, eventually playing double bass in the Conservatory's orchestra. In 1893, he assisted the Czech composer Antonín Dvořák. Most of the work that Burleigh did for Dvořák was copy work, transferring the manuscript of Dvořák's 9th symphony for the parts for various instruments. However, Burleigh's role in introducing Dvořák to African American folk music was substantial.

Maria Grace Sansone is a Italian - American television personality, and the former correspondent/co-host of LX New York airing on the NBC flagship... station WNBC, New York. Sansone also is a red carpet host for the TV GUIDE NETWORK coverage of award shows. Previously she hosted "Pop Tub Daily" featured on YouTube and The 9, an Internet video show that was part of Yahoo! Entertainment from July 6, 2006, to March 2008. Sansone started in television at age 11 when Mike Gallagher of WJET-TV in Erie hired her to host her own children's sports show, Down to Size. She interviewed Michael Jordan, Bill Cowher, Tommy Lasorda, and other sports figures. She went on to do several sports reports for ABC Sports, including interviews from the Little League World Series, Wide World of Sports, and the U.S. Figure Skating Championships. Sansone played basketball while attending high school at Villa Maria Academy and graduated from Syracuse University's Newhouse School of Public Communications in 2003. While a junior at Syracuse she co-hosted Live with Regis and Kelly with Regis Philbin while Kelly Ripa was on maternity leave.

Chris Vrenna is an American musician, Grammy-winning producer, engineer, remixer, songwriter, programmer, and founder of the electronic band... Tweaker. Vrenna also played drums for the industrial/rock band Nine Inch Nails from 1989 until 1997. Vrenna was also the keyboardist and drummer of the American rock band Marilyn Manson from 2007 until late 2011. Soon after graduating from McDowell High School in Erie, Pennsylvania in 1985, Vrenna moved to Chicago, quickly becoming a part of the Chicago industrial music scene and was briefly a member of Die Warzau and Stabbing Westward. He later reconnected with Trent Reznor, whom he met during high school in Pennsylvania, when they both were in local Cleveland, Ohio band the Exotic Birds. He also toured as a live drummer for KMFDM during the Money era tours, in 1992. He is currently recording under the name Tweaker, and has released two albums under that name, The Attraction to All Things Uncertain and 2 a.m. Wakeup Call . Tweaker toured select North American dates with Skinny Puppy in 2004.

Peter Mennin was an American composer and teacher. He directed the Peabody Conservatory in Baltimore, then for many years ran the Juilliard School,... succeeding William Schuman in this role. He began composing at an early age, and wrote nine symphonies, several concertos, and numerous works for wind band, chorus, and other ensembles. His style became more chromatic and astringent with time, but was always essentially tonal, relying heavily on polyphony. Mennin's fifth symphony of 1950, which is tonal, energetic and suspenseful, was recorded by Howard Hanson and the Eastman Rochester Orchestra in the Mercury series of American classical works. His work received renewed attention in the CD era, and now all his symphonies have been recorded . Juilliard awards a Peter Mennin prize, for Outstanding Achievement and Leadership in Music. His notable students include Jacob Druckman, Richard Danielpour, Karl Korte, Charles L. Bestor, Jack Behrens, and Claire Polin. His brother was the composer Louis Mennini.

Julianna McCarthy is an American actress. McCarthy was an original cast member of the soap opera The Young and the Restless, starring as matriarch... Liz Foster from 1973 to 1982. She reprised the role in 1984, 1985–86, 1993, 2003–2004, and 2008. She returned for her final appearance in the role in June, 2010. McCarthy has also appeared in motion pictures as diverse as The Last American Virgin, The Distinguished Gentleman, The Frighteners, Starship Troopers and Ted Bundy. She had a recurring role as Mila in Star Trek: Deep Space Nine, appearing in the episodes "Improbable Cause", "The Dogs of War" and the final episode, "What You Leave Behind". McCarthy also had recurring roles in Paradise and Dark Shadows.
