Robert P. Aitken Farm House is an Italianate residence in Flint Township, Michigan. The house has several excellent qualities of the Italianate... style. The main portion of the house is two stories tall, with paired eavesline brackets, a hip roof, and a cupola. The cupola has delicate scrollwork brackets in the corners, rounded arch windows, and paired brackets under the eaves. The house has two additions with gable roofs and eyebrow windows, indicating Greek Revival architecture, so there is some speculation that those additions were earlier parts of the structure. Robert P. Aitken moved to Flint Township, Michigan from New York in 1842. He married Sarah J. Johnstone, also from New York, in 1843. The exact date of construction is not known, but is presumed to be after 1843. Aitken was a successful farmer, a Union soldier in the Civil War, and a politician, serving as the supervisor of Flint Township and a representative to the Michigan Legislature. The family had five daughters and five sons. His son David D. Aitken later operated the farm and served in the United States House of Representatives. The house was listed on the National Register of Historic Places on November 26, 1982.

Sandra Bernhard is an American comedian, singer, actress and author. She first gained attention in the late 1970s with her stand-up comedy in which... she often bitterly critiques celebrity culture and political figures. Bernhard is number 97 on Comedy Central's list of the 100 greatest standups of all time. Bernhard has often addressed her childhood in interviews and within the context of her stand-up comedy. She was born in Flint, Michigan, the daughter of Jeanette and Jerome Bernhard. She has three older brothers. Her family moved to Scottsdale, Arizona, when she was 10. Of her Jewish family, Bernhard stated in her show Without You I'm Nothing: "My father was a proctologist and my mother was an abstract artist, so that's how I view the world." In the documentary program Girls Who Do: Comedy, she discusses being a funny teenager. After graduating from Saguaro High School in Scottsdale, Arizona, she went to live on a kibbutz in Israel. She moved to Los Angeles at the age of 19. During that time she made ends meet working as a manicurist in a high-end salon. Bernhard became a popular staple at The Comedy Store.

Mark Fredrick Farner is an American singer, guitarist and songwriter, best known as the lead singer and lead guitarist for Grand Funk Railroad, and... later as a contemporary Christian musician. Farner began his career in music by playing in Terry Knight and The Pack , The Bossmen , The Pack , before forming Grand Funk Railroad with Don Brewer and Mel Schacher in 1969. Craig Frost joined the band in 1973. Farner has Cherokee ancestry deriving from his maternal side. Farner was the guitarist and lead singer for Grand Funk Railroad as well as the songwriter for most of their material. His best known composition is the 1970 epic "I'm Your Captain ". Grand Funk's We're An American Band reached No. 1 on the Hot 100 on Mark's 25th birthday on September 29, 1973. After Grand Funk initially disbanded in 1976, Farner released his first self titled solo album in 1977, and his second, No Frills, in 1978 . In 1981, Farner and Don Brewer launched a new Grand Funk line-up and recorded two albums, Grand Funk Lives and What's Funk?.

Paul James Krause is a former American football defensive back who played in the National Football League. He set the NFL record for interceptions... with 81, which he picked off from 45 different quarterbacks, and was inducted into the Pro Football Hall of Fame in 1998. Krause attended and played high school football at Bendle High School in Burton, Michigan and earned all-state honors in basketball, football, baseball and track. Known for once scoring 54 points in a basketball game, he was one of the few in his high school to ever receive an athletic scholarship. Krause attended and played college football at the University of Iowa. Krause was a two-way starter as a wide receiver and defensive back. As a senior in 1963, he tied the Iowa record with six touchdown pass receptions and was selected for the Senior Bowl, the East-West Shrine game, the Coaches' All-American game and the College All-Star game. Krause also played baseball at Iowa. As a sophomore, he earned All-American honors and was drafted into the major leagues, but he turned down the offer.

The 6'8" tall Rice was a three-time NBA All-Star... guard/forward, ranking 11th in NBA history with 1,559 three-point field goals made during his 15-year career. As a player, Rice won an NCAA Men's Division I Basketball Championship and an NBA Championship. Rice has won both the NBA All-Star Game MVP and the NCAA Basketball Tournament Most Outstanding Player awards. In recent years, Rice has taken up MMA fight promotion as owner and head of G-Force Fights, based out of Miami, Florida. Rice played college basketball for the University of Michigan Wolverines for four seasons , a starter for three of those seasons. He became the school's all-time leading scorer with 2,442 points. He led Michigan to the 1989 NCAA Men's Division I Basketball Championship, scoring an NCAA-record 184 points in tournament play, a record that still stands. Rice was also voted the tournament's Most Outstanding Player and was part of the Associated Press All-America second-team, after averaging 25.6 points for the season, while shooting 58% from the floor and 52% from three-point range.

Robert Leland "Bob" Eubanks is an American television/radio personality and game show host, best known for hosting the game show The Newlywed Game... on and off since 1966. Eubanks received a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame for his television work in 2000. The star is in front of Grauman's Egyptian Theatre, where Eubanks worked during the first years of his broadcasting career. In 2005, he received a lifetime achievement Emmy award from the Academy of Television Arts and Sciences. Eubanks was born in Flint, Michigan, but was raised primarily in Pasadena, California, where he grew up listening to music, most notably favorites like Frank Sinatra and Doc Watson. His parents, John and Gertrude , were originally from Missouri. They moved to Flint during the Great Depression, where their only child was born, before moving on to California. The young boy became a child model, doing photo shoots for ads and meeting his idol, Gene Autry, when he was scheduled to do an ad photo shoot with him. He watched popular classic television and quiz game shows.

Betty Carter was an American jazz singer known for her improvisational technique, scatting abilities, and other complex musical abilities that... demonstrated her vocal talent and imaginative interpretation of lyrics and melodies. Vocalist Carmen McRae once remarked, "there's really only one jazz singer - only one: Betty Carter." Carter was born in Flint, Michigan and grew up in Detroit, where her father led a church choir. As a child, Carter was raised to be extremely independent and to not expect nurturing from her family. Even thirty years after leaving home, Carter was still very aware and effected by the home life that she was raised in, and has been quoted saying, Despite the isolation that Carter felt from her family due to their lack of support, it is possible to attribute her fighting spirit and determination to make it in the music business to this sense of abandonment, leading her to be the legend that she is today. She studied piano at the Detroit Conservatory at the age of fifteen, but did not exceed a modest level of expertise. At the age of sixteen, Carter began singing.

Robert Lewis Bell , better known as Bob Bell, was famous for his alter-ego, Bozo the Clown. He was the original portrayer of the character for... Chicago superstation WGN-TV. Bell was born in Flint, Michigan to a General Motors factory worker. He spent his life after high school doing odd jobs until he enlisted first in the United States Marine Corps and later the United States Navy during World War II, though he did not see any combat action due to the loss of vision in his right eye. Bell was able to pass the induction examination for the Marines by memorizing eye charts. He had a medical discharge from the Marines less than a year after joining in 1941. Bell then went to the Navy where he served in the Pacific Theater until 1946. Before the Marines, Bell worked in movies, taking minor roles and in set construction. Bell was also a baseball player during his Flint high school years, but was limited due to his vision loss. Bell's father, George M. Bell, played minor league baseball in the early part of the 20th century.
