Christopher Kenneth Volstad is a right-handed pitcher for the Chicago Cubs. He is 6 foot 8 inches and 230 pounds, and is a 2005 graduate of Palm Beach Gardens High School. Volstad was drafted with the 16th pick in the 2005 Major League Baseball Draft, the first of three first round picks for... the Marlins that year. Volstad graduated from Palm Beach Gardens High School in 2005, going 7-2 with one save and 0.41 ERA in 10 games as a senior, striking out 98 batters and walking just eight in 69.0 innings. He led his team deep into the regional playoffs, coming up one game short of States. In his first season of professional baseball, Volstad went 4-3 in 13 starts between the GCL Marlins and Jamestown Jammers of the New York – Penn League with a 2.22 ERA. Volstad never returned to Jamestown, instead starting out 2006 with the Greensboro Grasshoppers of the South Atlantic League . He went 11-8 over 26 starts with a 3.08 ERA. He was named the Marlins' #1 prospect in Baseball America's annual rankings.

In the Series, they lost to the St. Louis Cardinals, four games to three. In 2008, the Brewers achieved their first postseason berth in the 26 years since their World Series appearance as the wildcard team in the National League.

The Chicago Cubs are a professional baseball team located in Chicago, Illinois. They are members of the Central Division of Major League Baseball's... National League. The Cubs are one of the two remaining charter members of the National League . The team is currently owned by a family trust of TD Ameritrade founder Joe Ricketts, and was previously owned by the Chicago Tribune and, prior to the Tribune, by the Wrigley Company. The Cubs have not won the World Series in 103 years, a longer championship drought than that of any other major North American professional sports team, and are often referred to as "The Lovable Losers" because of this distinction. They are also known as "The North Siders" because Wrigley Field, their home park since 1916, is located in Chicago's north side Lake View community at 1060 West Addison Street. The Cubs have rivalries with the St. Louis Cardinals, the Milwaukee Brewers, and the Chicago White Sox. The club played its first games in 1870 and was founded professionally in 1876.
