Fordham University School of Law is a part of Fordham University in the United States. The School is located in the Borough of Manhattan in New York... City, and is one of eight ABA-approved law schools in that city. According to the U.S. News & World Report, 1,516 J.D. students attend Fordham Law. There are 1,170 students in the Day Division; the rest attend the Evening Division. Fordham Law also offers Master of Laws degrees in the following specializations: Banking, Corporate, & Finance Law; International Business & Trade Law; Intellectual Property & Information Technology Law; and International Law & Justice. Joint degrees are also offered in conjunction with Fordham's other graduate schools, including J.D./M.A. in International Political Economy and Development; J.D./M.B.A.; and J.D./M.S.W.. William Treanor became the ninth dean of Fordham Law School in 2002, succeeding John Feerick. The current dean of Fordham Law School is Michael M. Martin.

The Fordham Graduate School of Business Administration is a business school within Fordham University in the United States. It is a graduate school... focused on business administration, and should not be confused with the University's undergraduate Gabelli School of Business. The main campus for the graduate school is located in the New York City borough of Manhattan. Fordham University's involvement in business started early in the 20th century with the founding of the undergraduate College of Business in 1920. The Graduate School of Business opened in 1969 as part of the redevelopment of Lincoln Center. According to BusinessWeek's MBA Profile, between the New York City and Westchester campuses, the school has 349 full-time students and 1,202 part-time students. The school was ranked 27th in both the 2006 and 2007 rankings of regional schools conducted by The Wall Street Journal / Harris Interactive, based on its annual survey of corporate recruiters. In the 2011 US News & World Report Specialty Rankings, Fordham’s Finance MBA was ranked 14th in the nation, its Marketing MBA ranked 23rd, and its Part-time MBA program ranked 50th.

Loretta Tofani is a Pulitzer Prize-winning American journalist. Tofani earned a bachelor’s degree from Fordham University in 1975 and a... master’s degree in journalism from the University of California, Berkeley. She had a Fulbright fellowship to Japan in 1983. In 1982, while a staff writer at The Washington Post, she wrote a series of articles about a pattern of widespread gang rape inside a Prince George's County Maryland jail for which she won a 1983 Pulitzer Prize for Investigative Reporting. The series was notable for its documentation: Tofani obtained the victims' medical records and interviewed the victims as well as the rapists. The victims were innocent, charged with drunk driving and shop lifting, in jail because they did not have enough money for bond. The jail placed them in the same cellblocks with convicted murderers and armed robbers, who raped them. The jail changed its policies as a result of her story. After nine years at The Washington Post, Tofani in 1987 became a reporter for The Philadelphia Inquirer, serving as the paper's Beijing Bureau Chief from 1992 through 1996. She wrote for the Inquirer for 14 years.

Alphonso Joseph D'Abruzzo , better known as Alan Alda, is an American actor, director, screenwriter, and author. A six-time Emmy Award and Golden... Globe Award winner, he is best known for his role as Hawkeye Pierce in the TV series M*A*S*H. He is currently a Visiting Professor at the State University of New York at Stony Brook School of Journalism and a member of the advisory board of The Center for Communicating Science. In 1996, Alda was ranked #41 on TV Guide's 50 Greatest TV Stars of All Time. Alda was born Alphonso Joseph D'Abruzzo in The Bronx, New York City. His father, Robert Alda , was an actor and singer, and his mother, Joan Browne, was a former showgirl. His father was of Italian descent and his mother was of Irish ancestry. His adopted surname, "Alda," is a portmanteau of ALphonso and D'Abruzzo. When Alda was seven years old, he contracted Poliomyelitis. To combat the disease, his parents administered a painful treatment regimen developed by Sister Elizabeth Kenny that consisted of applying hot woolen blankets to his limbs and stretching his muscles.

Pat Harrington, Jr., is an American voice, stage, and television actor most popularly known for his role as building superintendent "Schneider" on... the CBS sitcom One Day at a Time. He is the son of Pat Harrington, Sr. Harrington was born Daniel Patrick Harrington, Jr., in New York City, New York. His father was a song and dance man who worked in vaudeville and performed on the Broadway stage. In 1950, Harrington graduated from Fordham University with a B.A. and subsequently received a Masters degree in political philosophy, also from Fordham. During the Korean War, Harrington served as an Intelligence Officer with the United States Air Force, where he achieved the rank of First Lieutenant. In 1985, after 30 years of marriage, Harrington divorced wife Marjorie Ann Gortner. He has four children and four grandchildren. Following in his father's footsteps, Harrington pursued a career in entertainment after graduating from college and completing military service. He took a job at NBC in New York City. He then began acting on stage and toured North America with a number of plays, eventually performing on Broadway.

He was interviewed in a short weekly spot early Sunday mornings on KNX-AM Radio in Los Angeles, from 2006 to 2008 on media-related news events and popular culture. He hosts four podcasts and maintains several blogs. In April 2009, The Chronicle of Higher Education named him one of Twitter's top ten "High Fliers". In 1985 he co-founded Connected Education, offering online courses for Masters credit. He served as President of the Science Fiction and Fantasy Writers of America from 1998 to 2001.

Daniel J. Berrigan, SJ is an American Catholic priest, peace activist, and poet. He and his brother, Philip, were for a time on the FBI Ten Most... Wanted Fugitives list for their involvement in antiwar protests during the Vietnam war. Berrigan was born in Virginia, Minnesota, a working-class town, on 9 May 1921. His mother, Frieda , was of German descent. His father, Thomas Berrigan, was a second-generation Irish Catholic and active union member. Though Thomas left the Catholic Church, Daniel remained attracted to the Church throughout his youth. Although a life-long devotee of Notre Dame, he joined the Jesuits directly out of high school in 1939 and was ordained to the priesthood in 1952. In 1954, he was assigned to teach theology at the Jesuit Brooklyn Preparatory School. In 1957 he was appointed professor of New Testament studies at Le Moyne College in Syracuse, New York. That same year he won the Lamont Prize for his book of poems, Time Without Number. Berrigan developed a reputation as a religious radical, working actively against poverty, and on changing the relationship between priests and laypersons.

Herbert Marshall McLuhan, CC was a Canadian educator, philosopher, and scholar—a professor of English literature, a literary critic, a... rhetorician, and a communication theorist. McLuhan's work is viewed as one of the cornerstones of the study of media theory, as well as having practical applications in the advertising and television industries. McLuhan is known for coining the expressions "the medium is the message" and "the global village" and predicted the World Wide Web almost thirty years before it was invented. Although he was a fixture in media discourse in the late 1960s, his influence started to wane in the early seventies. In the years after his death, he would continue to be a controversial figure in academic circles. With the arrival of the internet, however, there was renewed interest in his work and perspective. McLuhan was born in Edmonton, Alberta, to Elsie Naomi and Herbert Ernest McLuhan. His brother, Maurice, was born two years later. "Marshall" was a family name: his maternal grandmother's surname. Both of his parents were born in Canada. His mother was a Baptist schoolteacher who later became an actress.
