Fort Pierce

The Boston House is an historic building in downtown Fort Pierce, Florida. It is located at 239 South Indian River Drive. On April 11, 1985, it was... added to the U.S. National Register of Historic Places. It is recognized for its unique architecture of Neo-classical and Georgian mixture. It is also recognized for its part in local history. On April 18, 2012, the AIA's Florida Chapter placed the building on its list of Florida Architecture: 100 Years. 100 Places as Cresthaven/Boston House. In the early 1900s, William T. Jones, who later became the third Sheriff of St. Lucie County, worked as an engineer for Henry Flagler on the Florida East Coast Railway. Jones suffered an injury in a railroad accident and received a settlement for his injury. With his settlement he built Cresthaven which is known today as The Boston House. Historical records show the cost of building the house was $6,000 and wasn't completed until 1909. Some of the materials used to build the house was brought to Fort Pierce by the FEC Railroad because Jones was a personal friend of Henry Flagler. Jones lost the house during the great depression.

The Sunrise Theatre is a historic theater in Fort Pierce, Florida. It is located at 117 South 2nd Street. Built in 1924 by builder C.E. Cahow, the... Sunrise Theatre was designed in the Mediterranean Revival Style by architect John N. Sherwood. The theatre earned its reputation for becoming the cultural center of the city of Fort Pierce as well as being the greatest and biggest cultural institution in Florida at the time. The theater closed in 1983 after it had fallen into disrepair. It later reopened in 1999 after a $750,000 grant was awarded to renovate and restore the structure to its former condition. On December 7, 2001, it was added to the U.S. National Register of Historic Places.

Built in 1926, the Arcade Building is a historic building in downtown Fort Pierce, Florida. It is located at 101 U.S. 1, North. Built in a Spanish... Colonial Revival style, when built it was the largest commercial building in Fort Pierce. On October 12, 2001, the structure was listed on the U.S. National Register of Historic Places. The building was used for retail and office space until the 1980s when a fire damaged a third of the building. Since then the building was underused until the facade and the interior were restored in 2002. Its restoration was a major priority in the city's redevelopment.

Ashley Ann Vickers is an American television personality, sports announcer, and model. She is an emcee for NBA team the Memphis Grizzlies and in 2010... became a WWE Diva as a ring announcer/co-host for the WWE program NXT under the name Ashley Valence. In 2011 she was one of 22 contestants on Season 2 of Sweet Home Alabama, a reality show airing in Fall 2011 on CMT. A native of Ft. Pierce, Florida and a former competitive rodeo rider, Vickers attended Lincoln Park Academy. Upon graduation, she competed in Miss Florida USA and subsequently began modeling. She has worked for NASCAR and the NHRA. Vickers was voted a semi-finalist in Maxim magazine's 2010 "Hometown Hotties" competition. Vickers made her debut on Florida Championship Wrestling as ring announcer, host, and interviewer with the Bright House Sports Network introducing the lumberjill match for AJ Lee and Naomi Knight for the FCW Divas Championship and the Queen of FCW. On June 22, 2010, Vickers made her WWE debut, joining Matt Striker as the co-host of NXT. Later that year she appeared in two episodes of WWE Superstars. She left WWE that December. She then made appearances as a Florida Championship Wrestling ring announcer.
