Franklin

Carnton is a historic plantation house and museum in Franklin in Williamson County, Tennessee. Carnton is the setting for the novel The Widow of the... South, by author Robert Hicks. The sprawling farm and its buildings played an important role during and immediately after the Battle of Franklin during the American Civil War. The first construction at Carnton took place in 1815 by Randal McGavock , who had emigrated from Virginia, settling in Nashville, Tennessee. Significant work on the home started in the mid 1820s using slave labor. McGavock named the property after his father’s birthplace in County Antrim, Ireland. The term “Carnton“ was derived from a Gaelic word cairn that means “a pile of stones”. A cairn is sometimes a pile of stones marking a grave, which makes this place name a sad prophecy. Early on, the main house was adjoined to the smokehouse or kitchen by a two-story wing. The smokehouse was the first structure in the property . The kitchen was destroyed by a tornado in 1909. The remains can clearly be seen today and were being excavated by archaeologists.

Old Town, also known as the Thomas Brown House, is a house in Franklin, Tennessee at Old Town that was built by Thomas Brown some time between 1842... and 1854. It is a two-story frame structure built on an "I-House" plan, an example of vernacular architecture showing Greek Revival influences. The Thomas Brown House is among the best two-story vernacular I-house examples in the county . It was located on the Harpeth River branch of the Natchez Trace. Singer Jimmy Buffett owned the house in the late 1980s. It is built amidst and named for, Old Town, a village site of Mississippian culture with mounds. It is located near Old Town Bridge, the remains of a Natchez Trace bridge.

The John Hunter House, also known as McCullough House, is an Italianate style house that was built in 1875 near Franklin, Williamson County,... Tennessee. It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1988. The listed property has an area of 2.8 acres . It was covered in a 1988 study of Williamson County historical resources.

Rick Florian is a musician, songwriter and producer, most known for being the lead singer of Contemporary Christian Music rock band Whiteheart since... 1986. He currently lives in Franklin, Tennessee with his wife, Lisa, one of his three sons and his daughter, and works as a real estate agent. Rick still lends his voice to several music projects over the year. Florian was born in South Bend, Indiana, in 1962, who also graduated from Taylor University in 1984. Florian was a three-time lighting tech/roadie for the band back in the 80s. When Florian was caught off guard singing and dancing to Whiteheart's songs, he was asked to audition for the open position as the band's vocalist. He got the job and recorded eight studio albums with them. Throughout his tenure with the band, he was praised on several occasions for his clean voice and excellent performing abilities. He could always find a clever spot to show off his back handspring in each concert. Despite not being a founding member, he became the core of Whiteheart along with Billy Smiley and Mark Gersmehl .

Taylor Marie Ware is an American singer and yodeler from Franklin, Tennessee, a suburb of Nashville. Before Ware knew how to yodel, she performed at... a county fair at age four. Her talent was singing and playing a violin. When she was six she decided to sing to seniors, so she started an Adopt-a-Grandparent program. According to Ware, she taught herself to yodel from an audiotape and instruction book when she was seven years old, after going to a convention with a friend. In 2003, Ware won $10,000 in the Yahoo! Yodel Challenge. She beat eight other yodelers to receive her prize. She was later featured in a Yahoo commercial. She also participated in a challenge to beat a Guinness world record. Taylor honed her yodeling skills while taking lessons from country music star Margo Smith who is known worldwide as the Tennessee Yodeler. Shortly after taking yodeling lessons from Smith, Taylor was the runner-up on the NBC show America's Got Talent in August 2006. Ware performed on the Grand Ole Opry with Riders in the Sky when she was nine years old.

James Allen Cox is an American professional wrestler who competes under the ring name "The Cowboy" James Storm. Since 2002, Storm has been employed... by Total Nonstop Action Wrestling, where he, along with A.J. Styles and Jeff Jarrett, is one of three wrestlers to have worked continuously for the promotion since its first broadcast in June of that year. Truett McKeehan is the son of Toby McKeehan . He was born in Franklin, Tennessee, born September 4, 1998. Truett has not had much of a career yet,... but is slowly gaining popularity from singing short songs on albums that his dad has recorded. He has appeared on the albums Momentum, Re:Mix Momentum, This Christmas, Welcome to Diverse City, Renovating Diverse City, Portable Sounds and Tonight as the artist "TruDog." Truett's brother, Judah McKeehan, has appeared on the album Tonight on the track "Loud N' Clear" with Truett. Other than his solo songs, he is featured in Extreme Days, Catchafire, Stories: Down to the Bottom, Gotta Go and This Christmas single, all written by his dad Tobymac.
