The Thomas and Company Cannery is a historic building located at Gaithersburg, Montgomery County, Maryland. It is a one to two-story tall,... free-standing, load-bearing brick rectangular structure composed of four discrete, structurally independent but contiguous elements, built between 1917 and 1918. An addition was constructed in 1956. It was the first and largest vegetable cannery in Montgomery County. The cannery was the primary employer in Gaithersburg, providing regular full and part-time employment for more than 200 people, and hundreds of additional jobs for migrant workers employed picking vegetables grown in the surrounding area. It closed in 1963, after fire damage. It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1990.

John A. Belt, was a well known and substantial entrepreneur in Montgomery County in the late 19th and early 20th century. It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1984.

The passenger station is a one-story common-bond brick structure with a gable roof. About 90 feet to the east of the station is the freight shed or loading dock, a brick structure about 45 ft x 20 ft. Its north and south facades are divided into six panels with a door in the second and fifth bays on both sides. They were built in 1884, for the Metropolitan Branch of the Baltimore and Ohio Railroad , and the station was extended to the east in 1905. The station was most likely designed by E. Francis Baldwin. It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1978.

The station was originally built as the Gaithersburg B & O Railroad Station and Freight Shed in 1884, for the Metropolitan Branch of the Baltimore and Ohio Railroad , The station was most likely designed by Ephraim Francis Baldwin, and consists of two historic buildings. The passenger station is a one-story common-bond brick structure with a gable roof. About 90 feet to the east of the station is the freight shed or loading dock, a brick structure about 45 ft x 20 ft. Its north and south facades are divided into six panels with a door in the second and fifth bays on both sides. The station was extended to the east in 1905. When Amtrak was established in 1971, B&O Passenger service was replaced by the Potomac Special, which itself was replaced by the Blue Ridge in 1973. From 1976 to 1981 it also served another Amtrak train called the Shenandoah.

Judah Friedlander is an American actor and comedian, known for his trademark trucker hats, oversized glasses and unkempt appearance, which he... retains in many of his screen roles. Friedlander was born in Gaithersburg, Maryland, the son of Shirley and Art Friedlander. His father was of Russian Jewish descent and his mother, a native of Pittsburgh, is Croatian American. Friedlander started in show business as cameraman on Chris Rock's short Who Is Chris Rock?. Ten years later, Friedlander began working in front of the camera, with appearances on Lateline and roles in numerous feature film comedies including Meet the Parents, Zoolander and Full Grown Men. Friedlander's most noted movie role to date was in the film American Splendor, as Toby Radloff. He appeared as "The Hug Guy" from the Dave Matthews Band 2001 video "Everyday". He was also a series regular on VH1's Best Week Ever and currently on NBC's 30 Rock, on which he plays Frank Rossitano, one of the writers of TGS with Tracy Jordan, a spoof of Saturday Night Live. In every episode, Friedlander wears a different slogan on his trademark hat, which he designs himself.
