Marion Mitchell Morrison , better known by his stage name John Wayne, was an American film actor, director and producer. An Academy Award-winner,... Wayne is the biggest box office draw of all time. An enduring American icon, he epitomized rugged masculinity and is famous for his demeanor, including his distinctive calm voice, walk, and height. Wayne was born in Winterset, Iowa but his family relocated to the greater Los Angeles area when he was four years of age. He found work at local film studios when he lost his football scholarship to USC as a result of a bodysurfing accident. Initially working for the Fox Film Corporation, he mostly appeared in small bit parts. His acting breakthrough came in 1939 with John Ford's Stagecoach, making him an instant star. Wayne would go on to star in 142 pictures, primarily typecast in Western films.

Joseph "Joe" Hahn , better known by his stage name, Mr. Hahn, is an American turntablist and director best known as the DJ and sampler for the band... Linkin Park. Joseph "Joe" Hahn was born the youngest of three children on March 15, 1977 in Dallas, Texas, but he grew up in Glendale, California. Hahn is a second generation Korean American. Hahn graduated from Herbert Hoover High School in Glendale in 1995. He then studied at the Art Center College of Design in Pasadena but did not graduate. On February 15, 2005, Hahn married Karen Benedit; the couple divorced in 2009. Hahn began deejaying in high school, and he studied illustration at the Art Center College of Design in Pasadena, California. In college, he met Mike Shinoda, and joined his band Xero, which later became known as Linkin Park. Hahn and Shinoda guested in The X-Ecutioners' hit single "It's Going Down". Hahn also guested in Shinoda's Fort Minor album The Rising Tied. Hahn was called Chairman Hahn on the back cover of Linkin Park's Remix album Reanimation next to the songs the songs Wth>You and Kyur4 th Ich.

Gregory David Kriesel , best known by his stage name Greg K., is an American bass guitarist and backing vocalist for the punk band, The Offspring.... Kriesel is one of the founding members of The Offspring alongside singer Dexter Holland. Prior to forming the Offspring, Kriesel was also on the track and field team in high school, along with fellow bandmate Holland, and was also in the Math Club. He and Holland had been playing locally since the early 1980s and formed Manic Subsidal in 1984. There's been a rumor that Greg and Dexter, prior to Manic Subsidal, were involved in Clowns of Death, a band that included future Offspring guitarist, Noodles. After hiring Noodles as their new guitarist, Manic Subsidal changed their name to The Offspring. Since their start in 1986, The Offspring has released eight full-length albums, four EPs, three compilation albums, three videos, one demo, one box set and twenty-five singles. On May 28, 2008, Kriesel announced on The Offspring's website that he was taking a hiatus from touring because of a "scheduled family matter" but would be returning to the fold by mid-June.

Bob Flanagan was an American performance artist, comic, writer, poet, and musician. He was born in New York City on December 26, 1952, and grew up... in Glendale, California. At a young age he was diagnosed with cystic fibrosis, a condition which would influence his art and ultimately claim his life. He studied literature at California State University, Long Beach and the University of California, Irvine. He moved to Los Angeles in 1976. In 1978, he published his first book, The Kid is the Man. He also worked with the improv comedy group The Groundlings. On January 4, 1996, he died of cystic fibrosis, aged 43. He was the subject of the documentary SICK: The Life & Death of Bob Flanagan, Supermasochist a film by Kirby Dick, which films the final years of Bob's life. While some of his performances were notable for acts of extreme masochism , he also wrote humorous songs, many of them intended as much for children as adults. He briefly appeared in Michael Tolkin's The New Age as one of the alternate lifestylers encountered by Peter Weller's character.

Robert Barton Englund is an American actor, voice-actor and director, best known for playing the fictional serial killer Freddy Krueger, in the... Nightmare on Elm Street film series. He received a Saturn Award nomination for Best Supporting Actor for A Nightmare on Elm Street 3: Dream Warriors in 1987 and A Nightmare on Elm Street 4: The Dream Master in 1988. Englund is a classically trained actor. Englund was born in Glendale, California on June 6, 1947, the son of Janis and Clyde Kent Englund, an aeronautics engineer who helped develop the Lockheed U-2 aircraft. He is of part Swedish ancestry, and can speak Swedish fairly well. Englund began studying acting at the age of twelve in a children's theater program at California State University, Northridge. While he was in high school, he attended the Cranbrook Theatre School in Bloomfield Hills. He then attended California State University for three years before transferring to Michigan's Oakland University, where he trained at the Meadow Brook Theatre, at the time a branch of the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art.

Glen David Brin, Ph.D. is an American scientist and award-winning author of science fiction. He has received the Hugo, Locus, Campbell and Nebula... Awards. Brin was born in Glendale, California in 1950. In 1973, he graduated from the California Institute of Technology with a Bachelor of Science in astrophysics. He followed this with a Master of Science in applied physics in 1978 and a Doctor of Philosophy in space science in 1981, both from the University of California, San Diego. Brin is a 2010 fellow of the Institute for Ethics and Emerging Technologies. He currently lives in southern California with his children. His ancestors come from Poland, from the area around Konin. His grandfather was drafted into the Russian army and fought in the Russian-Japanese War of 1905. Brin's body of science fiction, when taken as a whole, is normally categorized as hard science fiction. About half of Brin's works are in his Uplift Universe. These have won a large following in the SF community, twice winning the international Science Fiction Achievement Award in the Best Novel category.

Leslie Ann Phillips, aka Sam Phillips is an American singer and a songwriter. Phillips was born in Glendale, California. She began her musical... career as a vocalist in the early 1980s, singing background parts for Christian artists Mark Heard, Randy Stonehill and others. After a short time, Phillips was signed to a solo contract with Myrrh Records - under her given name - where she went on to record four Christian pop albums, Beyond Saturday Night, Dancing with Danger, Black and White in a Grey World and, finally, The Turning, which teamed her with producer and future husband, T-Bone Burnett. Throughout the Myrrh period, Phillips wrote an increasing number of her own songs and several were Top 10 singles on Christian radio. Since Cyndi Lauper was popular at the time and also had a high-pitched, idiosyncratic vocal style, Myrrh insisted on promoting her as "the Christian Cyndi Lauper." Phillips was never comfortable with this image, and it was a bone of contention between her and the label.
