Fluor Field at the West End is a 5,700-seat baseball-only stadium in Greenville, South Carolina that opened on April 6, 2006. Designed by... architectural firm DLR Group, it was built as a new home of the Greenville Drive baseball team, the A affiliate of the Boston Red Sox. Fluor Field nearly replicates the dimensions of Fenway Park, home of the Red Sox. The ballpark has its own "Green Monster" replica, a 30-foot high wall in left field as opposed to the 37-foot one found at Fenway, and contains a manual scoreboard. Every other dimension is to the same specifications as Fenway Park, including "Pesky’s Pole" in right field. Other than the tribute to Fenway, Fluor Field also pays tribute to the Greenville area as the ballpark's nostalgic look utilizes reclaimed bricks from local mills. As is the tradition in Fenway Park, Neil Diamond's "Sweet Caroline" is sung in the middle of the eighth inning. In 2007, the Greenville Drive privately funded the enhancement of Fluor Field at a cost of approximately $15 million. One of these enhancements include a display regarding Greenville's baseball heritage with information about players who were either born or played in the upstate region.

Timmons Arena is a 4,000-seat multi-purpose arena in Greenville, South Carolina. It was built in 1998 and is home to the Furman University Paladins basketball team.

Haywood Mall is a super-regional shopping mall in Greenville, South Carolina, United States. The mall is the largest in the state, with 1,300,000... square feet of retail space. The super-regional mall opened in 1980 at the intersection of Haywood Road and I-385/Golden Strip Freeway. Haywood's anchor stores include Belk, Dillard's, J. C. Penney, Macy's and Sears, with the Macy's store being one of only two in South Carolina. Since its 1995 renovation, the mall has been L-shaped. The third major mall to open within a five-mile radius, Haywood was completed in 1980 and contained anchors Belk, J. C. Penney, Rich's, and Sears, and 900,000 square feet of retail space. Through the 1980s, Haywood and rivals McAlister Square and Greenville Mall competed with a mix of different anchors. Greenville's fourth enclosed mall, Bell Tower Mall, was converted into offices in the mid-1980s. In 1995, Dillard's announced that it would close its smaller McAlister Square location and build a three-level store at Haywood.

Edwin McCain is an American singer-songwriter and musician. Long time touring friends with Hootie and the Blowfish, the Edwin McCain band signed... with same label, Atlantic Records. In 1994, he recorded his first major-label album, Honor Among Thieves under the Lava Records imprint . The record was then released in 1995. His second album, Misguided Roses, spawned "I'll Be", a major hit single in 1998. This song is also featured on the charitable album, Live in the X Lounge, along with a live version of "Solitude". It was also featured and included in the soundtrack of the 2004 teen flick, A Cinderella Story. Summer of 1999 marked the arrival of McCain's third album, Messenger, which included a second Top 40 hit, the Diane Warren-penned "I Could Not Ask For More." Produced by Matt Serletic and Noel Golden, Messenger was recorded at Tree Sound Studios and Southern Tracks in Atlanta as well as Record Plant Studios in Los Angeles. "I Could Not Ask For More" was also featured on the soundtrack for the 1999 film Message in a Bottle.

A number of prominent actresses, such as Ilene Kristen and Donna Mills read for the role of Gloria, but after a single reading with actor Christian LeBlanc , producers hired Chapman on the spot. Dorothy Allison is an American writer, speaker, and member of the Fellowship of Southern Writers. Dorothy E. Allison was born on April 11, 1949 in... Greenville, South Carolina to Ruth Gibson Allison, who was fifteen at the time. Ruth was a poor and unmarried mother who worked as a waitress and cook. When Allison was five, her step dad began to sexually abuse her. It lasted for seven years and then she was able to tell a relative, who told Ruth, and it stopped. The family still remained together. The physical abuse resumed and lasted for another five years, and she contracted gonorrhea from her stepfather. This went undiagnosed until Allison was in her 20's, making her unable to have children. The family moved to central Florida to escape debt. Allison had witnessed her family members die because of the extreme poverty. Allison soon became the first person in her family to graduate from high school. At age 18, she got out of the house and went on to attend college. In the early 1970s, Allison attended Florida Presbyterian College on a National Merit scholarship.

J. Smith-Cameron is an American actress. Smith-Cameron was born Jean Isabel Smith in Louisville, Kentucky, the daughter of architect Richard Sharpe... Smith. She was raised in Greenville, South Carolina, and attended Florida State University for one year, where she was enrolled in the School of Theatre. There she met film director Victor Nunez, who cast her as a lead in his film Gal Young 'Un. She added her family's name, Cameron, when told by the Actors' Equity Association that there was already a J. Smith and there was a rule that two actors can not have the same professional name. She made her Broadway debut in 1982 when she replaced Mia Dillon in Crimes of the Heart. She appeared in the original Broadway cast of Lend Me a Tenor as Maggie in 1989. She appeared in the Broadway production of Our Country's Good in 1991. Additional Broadway credits include Tartuffe , Night Must Fall and After the Night and the Music . She has appeared in many Off-Broadway plays, including at the Public Theatre, the Second Stage Theatre, and Playwrights Horizons.

Jaimie Alexander is an American actress best known for portraying Jessi on the TV series Kyle XY and Sif in the 2011 superhero film Thor. Alexander... was born Jaimie Tarbush in Greenville, South Carolina but moved to Grapevine, Texas when she was four years old. She has four brothers. Alexander first got into acting in grade school where she took theater for fun. Alexander stated that she was actually kicked out of theater when she was in high school because she could not sing and went into sports. When she was 17, she substituted for a friend at a meeting with a scouting agency and she met her manager, Randy James, who sent her some scripts. After graduation, a year and a half later, she moved to Los Angeles to pursue acting. Her career was launched in 2003, when she was cast in the leading role of Hanna Thompson in the low budget award-winning film The Other Side. According to the movie's commentary, she was originally at the audition to help out by reading against the male actors, but the director Gregg Bishop decided to cast her in the leading role after hearing her perform the lines.

Florence serves on the board of the national nonprofit Afterschool Alliance, an organization that works to promote and to support quality after-school programs. In 2007, Florence and fellow chef Joey Altman co-hosted a celebrity chef cook-off to benefit Afterschool Alliance. In 2008 Florence was named the Dean of Culinary Education at COPIA: The American Center for Wine, Food and the Arts.

Terry Taylor , is an American retired professional wrestler best known for his time in the National Wrestling Alliance, World Championship Wrestling,... and the World Wrestling Federation. From 2003 until 2011, Taylor was the Director of Talent Relations in Total Nonstop Action Wrestling . Terry Taylor was a popular fan favorite for much of his early career in the Mid-South region, as well as the Mid-Atlantic in the 1980s. Taylor was originally selected to be part of The Fabulous Ones tag team with Stan Lane, but that role went to Florida wrestler, Steve Keirn. Taylor then formed a tag team with Bobby Fulton called the Fantastic Ones. After they split up, Fulton teamed with Tommy Rogers to form The Fantastics. Taylor made his way to Mid-South in January 1984 and feuded with the team of Nikolai Volkoff and Krusher Darsow. Darsow changed his name to Krusher Khruschev, and he and Taylor met in the finals of a May tournament to crown the first ever Mid-South TV champion, which Khruschev won. 45 days later, Taylor defeated Khruschev in New Orleans to begin his first of four TV title reigns.
