Sandra Dale “Sandy” Dennis was an American theater and film actress. At the height of her career in the 1960s she won two Tony Awards,... as well as an Oscar for her performance in Who's Afraid of Virginia Woolf?. Dennis was born in Hastings, Nebraska, the daughter of Yvonne, a secretary, and Jack Dennis, a postal clerk. She had a brother, Frank. A high school classmate of Dick Cavett, she attended the Nebraska Wesleyan University and University of Nebraska. Dennis grew up in Kenesaw and Lincoln, Nebraska, appearing in the Lincoln Community Theater Group and moving to New York City at the age of 19. Dennis made her television debut in 1956 in The Guiding Light. In 1963, she appeared in the The Fugitive which starred David Janssen, in the episode "The Other Side of the Mountain." In 1964, she appeared in the television episode "Don't Mention My Name in Sheboygan" of Craig Stevens's CBS drama, Mr. Broadway. Her film debut was the role of Kay in Splendor in the Grass . However, she was more committed to following a career in the theater. She won consecutive Tony Awards for her performances in A Thousand Clowns and Any Wednesday .

Gwen Lee was an American film actress from Hastings, Nebraska. Her given name was Gwendolyn Lepinski. Lee began as a model and was discovered by a... casting director. She signed a contract with Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer in August 1925. Almost immediately she was cast in two MGM films, I'll Tell The World and A Little Bit of Broadway, produced by Robert Z. Leonard. At the end of the month, she acted with Mae Murray in The Masked Bride, directed by Christy Cabanne. By September 1925, Lee was selected by MGM officials to represent the Culver City, California studio as a beauty contestant for the Eastern Star Fashion and Home Exposition, which was held in October. Occasionally Gwen appeared in movies only briefly, but received notice for her chic attire. One such instance was in the MGM Edmund Goulding production of Sally, Irene and Mary . She was a WAMPAS Baby Star in 1928. Her career continued for almost a decade into the era of sound motion pictures. Lee played Marjory in Untamed , with Joan Crawford and Robert Montgomery. She appeared again with Crawford and Marie Prevost in the prison drama Paid .

Neal Hefti was an American jazz trumpeter, composer, tune writer, and arranger. He was perhaps best known for composing the theme music for the... Batman television series of the 1960s, and for scoring the 1968 film The Odd Couple and the subsequent TV series of the same name. He began arranging professionally in his teens, when he wrote charts for Nat Towles. He became a prominent composer and arranger while playing trumpet for Woody Herman; while working for Herman he provided new arrangements for "Woodchopper's Ball" and "Blowin' Up a Storm," and composed "The Good Earth" and "Wild Root." After leaving Herman's band in 1946, Hefti concentrated on arranging and composing, although he occasionally led his own bands. He is especially known for his charts for Count Basie such as "Li'l Darlin'" and "Cute". Neal Paul Hefti was born October 29, 1922 to an impoverished family in Hastings, Nebraska. As a young child, he remembers his family relying on charity during the holidays.
