Hated: GG Allin and the Murder Junkies is a 1994 documentary directed by Todd Phillips about the life of GG Allin, a punk rock musician who died from a heroin overdose in 1993. Allin was infamous for excessive behavior , and his stage shows became confrontational events involving indecent exposure , onstage defecation and coprophagia, physical assault , and obscene language. GG Allin died of a heroin overdose during post-production. The filmmakers shot additional material on his death for inclusion in the film. Hated was the debut film by director Todd Phillips, who was a junior at NYU during... production. Phillips would later go on to direct highly successful mainstream comedy blockbusters, including Old School, Starsky & Hutch, The Hangover and The Hangover Part 2. The documentary included concert and rehearsal footage as well as interviews with Allin, fellow bandmembers, friends, detractors and dedicated fans.
