Sheena Easton is a Scottish recording artist. Easton became famous for being the focus of an episode in the British television programme The Big... Time, which recorded her attempts to gain a record contract and her eventual signing with EMI Records. Easton is a two-time Grammy winner and has 15 US Top 40 singles on the Billboard US Pop Singles chart to date. She is the only artist in the history of the Billboard chart to have a Top Five single on all the key charts: Pop/Rock, R&B, Country, Dance, and Adult Contemporary. Easton rose to fame in the early 1980s with the pop hits "9 to 5" , "For Your Eyes Only," "Strut," "Sugar Walls," "U Got the Look" with Prince, and "The Lover in Me." She went on to become successful in the United States and Japan, working with prominent vocalists and producers, such as Prince, Christopher Neil, Kenny Rogers, Luis Miguel, L.A. Reid and Babyface, and Nile Rodgers. Easton was born Sheena Shirley Orr in the Scottish town of Bellshill, the youngest of six children to steel mill labourer Alex Orr and his wife Annie.

Joseph David Kucan is a Video game developer, director, actor, screenwriter, and casting director for various gaming companies and movies. He is a... resident of Las Vegas, Nevada. He is well known for his role as Kane from the Command & Conquer series. Kucan was born in Las Vegas, Nevada. He has two younger brothers, Michael and Daniel. His parents, Kenn and Jenny, worked as public school teachers in Clark County for 35 years . He began acting at the age of 10 in a local community theatre production of "The Riddle Machine." Soon after, he was one of the founding members of the Rainbow Company, a theatre training program for young people sponsored by the City of Las Vegas. Kucan was involved with that program for 8 years, receiving training in all aspects of theatre arts. After graduating from Bonanza High School and the Rainbow Company in 1983, Kucan moved to California and took a job as a staff actor with the Firebird Theatre Company, a touring repertory theatre company in Los Angeles. He left after one season and returned to Las Vegas, enrolling at UNLV as a theatre arts major.

The land comprising the modern state was inhabited by Native Americans of the Paiute, Shoshone, and Washoe tribes prior to European contact. It was subsequently claimed by Spain as a part of Alta California until the Mexican War of Independence brought it under Mexican control.
