Henderson is a suburban city in Clark County, Nevada, United States, within the Las Vegas metropolitan area of the Mojave Desert. It is the second largest city in Nevada, after Las Vegas, with a population of 257,729 in the 2010 census. It occupies the southeast end of the Las Vegas Valley at an elevation of approximately 1,330 feet . The city received its charter from the State Legislature in 1953 establishing a Council/Manager form of government.
