Billy Bob Thornton is an American actor, screenwriter, director and musician. Thornton gained early recognition as a cast member on the CBS sitcom... Hearts Afire and in several early 1990s films including On Deadly Ground and Tombstone. In the mid-1990s, after writing, directing, and starring in the independent film Sling Blade, he won an Academy Award for Best Adapted Screenplay. He appeared in several major film roles following Sling Blade 's success, including 1998's Armageddon and A Simple Plan. During the late 1990s, Thornton began a career as a singer-songwriter. He has released three albums and was the singer in a blues rock band. Thornton was born in Hot Springs, Arkansas, the son of Virginia Roberta , a psychic, and William Raymond "Billy Ray" Thornton , a high school history teacher and basketball coach who died when Thornton was 18. He has two younger brothers, Jimmy Don , who died of a heart attack at 30, and John David , who resides in California. Jimmy Don Thornton wrote a number of songs, two of which—"Island Avenue" and "Emily"—Thornton has recorded on his solo albums.

Alan Walbridge Ladd was an American film actor. Ladd was born in Hot Springs, Arkansas. He was the only child of Ina Raleigh Ladd and Alan Ladd, Sr.... He was of English ancestry. His father died when he was four, and his mother relocated to Oklahoma City where she married Jim Beavers, a housepainter. The family then moved again to North Hollywood, California where Ladd became a high-school swimming and diving champion and participated in high school dramatics at North Hollywood High School, graduating on February 1, 1934. He opened his own hamburger and malt shop, which he called Tiny's Patio. He worked briefly as a studio carpenter and for a short time was part of the Universal Pictures studio school for actors. But Universal decided he was too blond and too short and dropped him. Intent on acting, he found work in radio. Ladd began by appearing in dozens of films in small roles, including Citizen Kane in which he played one of the "faceless" reporters who are always shown in silhouette. He first gained some recognition with a featured role in the wartime thriller Joan of Paris, 1942.

Springs, Arkansas , the son of Virginia Clinton Kelley and Roger M. Clinton, who were Bill Clinton’s mother and stepfather, respectively. As a child, Bill often had to protect Roger from his periodically alcoholic and abusive father. Roger became a musician and formed a rock band, which Bill Clinton described as talented in his autobiography. Clinton has guest-starred on a number of television shows, including The Nanny as himself , Sabrina, the Teenage Witch, and Cybill. He also played the character of Mayor Bubba in Pumpkinhead II: Blood Wings, and most recently, himself in the film Fred Claus . Clinton developed his singing career under the direction of Arkansas' iconic music impresario Butch Stone where he developed his chops singing the warm-ups for the studio audiences for the Designing Women sitcom and playing lounges.

Ruby Rose Blevins , known professionally as Patsy Montana, was an American country music singer-songwriter and the first female country performer to... have a million-selling single . She is a member of the Country Music Hall of Fame. Ruby Blevins was born in Beaudry, Arkansas and grew up near Hope. She had ten siblings, all of them boys, However, two died before puberty from an accidental fire. In 1929, Blevins went to California to study violin at the University of the West. She won a local talent contest with her singing, yodelling, and playing the guitar and first prize was an opportunity to play on the Hollywood Breakfast Club radio program. In the summer of 1933, Blevins went with two of her brothers to the Chicago World's Fair. The trip's mission was to enter a large, prize watermelon the Blevins had raised, and Rubye was invited to go, mainly to meet up with two pen pals, Millie and Dolly Good . While in Chicago, she auditioned for a crooner's role. However, she began laughing halfway through the song.

Steve Barton was an American actor, singer, dancer, choreographer, stage director and teacher. Steven Neal Barton was born on June 26, 1954, in Hot... Springs, Arkansas, United States, the youngest of three children of Tom and Mary Barton. He grew up in Nederland, Texas. He won a scholarship to the University of Texas at Austin, where he majored in theater, dance and singing, appearing in over 30 productions with the University of Texas and with the Ballet of Austin. Barton graduated from the University of Texas at Austin, where he now has an endowed Presidential Scholarship named after him, and went to Europe, getting his first job at St. Gallen, Switzerland, and then playing in major Swiss, German and Austrian theater companies. He played leading roles in West Side Story, Godspell, Romeo and Juliet, The Fantasticks, The Threepenny Opera, Oklahoma!, Jesus Christ Superstar, Evita, Guys and Dolls, and Camelot, before playing the role of Munkustrap in the original Vienna cast of Cats, at the Theater an der Wien.

Henry Glover was an American songwriter, arranger, record producer and trumpet player. In the music industry of the time, Glover was one of the more... successful, and influential, black executives. He gained eminence in the late 1940s, primarily working for the independent King label. His duties included operating as a producer, arranger, songwriter , engineer, trumpet player, talent scout, A&R man, studio constructor, while later in his career he became an owner of his own label. Glover worked with country, blues, R&B, pop, rock, and jazz musicians, and he helped King Records to become one of the largest independent labels of its time. He was born Henry Bernard Glover, in Hot Springs, Arkansas. As a youngster, he listened to various genres of music on local radio, and learned to play the trumpet. Following high school and college, he joined Buddy Johnson's big band in 1944, and Lucky Millinder's orchestra the following year. In the latter capacity Glover met Syd Nathan, who hired Glover as an A&R man at King Records.
