few snafus at HTC earlier today have led to the unexpected release of a few new smartphones, including the new Touch Viva. The Viva is an entry level addition to HTC's Touch family of smartphones that is intended for emerging markets. It has specs that mostly mirror those of the original HTC Touch, but the Touch Viva has a non-flush mounted display and more RAM (128MB) than the original.

Product Reviews

as good as it says it is Apr 8, 2009
4.00 4/5.0
Pros:
Small size, Cheap, has WiFi, works with many software applications
Cons:
no 3G (but you knew that before buying), finger gesture recognition rarely works, substandard camera

Review: Buy this if you need a cheap PDA phone to work on-the-go using Pocket Office, and for its Roaming capability, and if you don't need 3G.
