L.T.D. is an American R&B/funk band best known for their 1977 hit single, " Back in Love Again" and "Holding On ", as well as their many ballads,... such as "Love Ballad," "We Both Deserve Each Other's Love," and "Where Did We Go Wrong?" L.T.D. , was formed in Greensboro, North Carolina, in 1968, when Arthur "Lorenzo" Carnegie , Jake Riley Carle Wayne Vickers and Abraham "Onion" Miller , who had been working as members of the 15 piece "Fantastic Soul Men Orchestra" backing the ever popular duo of Sam & Dave, along with Jimmy "J.D." Davis , formed their own band named Love Men Ltd. Then they drove to New York City, in a car that they purchased together , and lived in Spanish Harlem on 149th and Broadway, where Toby Wynn joined them. While performing on a gig in Providence, Rhode Island, Jeffrey Osborne was recruited by them.

Private Music is a United States record company, founded in 1984 by experimental musician Peter Baumann, as a home for instrumental music. Initially signing such artists as Yanni, Suzanne Ciani, Patrick O'Hearn, and Baumann's former bandmates, Tangerine Dream, the record label specialized in New... Age music, but made a sharp turn to mainstream niches, with signings of Taj Mahal, Ringo Starr, Etta James, A.J. Croce, and many more. Its releases were distributed by then-emerging BMG, which bought Private Music in 1996. In 1989, Baumann hired veteran Warner Bros. Records' music executive Ron Goldstein. As Private Music's President & CEO, Goldstein moved the offices from New York City to Los Angeles, hiring former publicist for U2, Tony Bennett and Warners’ “Musicians for Life,” Karen Johnson, to expand the label's image and veteran-artists' re-development. Baumann recruited the respected mainstream A&R executive Jamie Cohen, in demand at the time for his work with the Red Hot Chili Peppers.

For over 20 years, the company operated under the name Koch Entertainment, a music, film, and television distribution company that was started in 1987 by Franz's son Michael. By 1991, Koch had become one of the first national independent distributors of domestic labels in the U.S. by offering an alternative to the traditional system of regional independent distribution or national major label distribution. In 1992, Koch was ranked #315 on Inc. Magazine’s list of America’s 500 fastest-growing private companies, and has since grown into an entertainment conglomerate. It acquired the German label Schwann of Bill Schwann, renamed Koch Schwann. Koch expanded into the Canadian market in 1995 by forming the Toronto-based Koch Entertainment Canada.

A&M Records is an American record label owned by Universal Music Group that operates under the mantle of its Interscope-Geffen-A&M division. A&M Records was formed in 1962 by Herb Alpert and Jerry Moss. Their first choice for a name was Carnival Records, under which they released two... singles before discovering another label had taken the Carnival name first. The company was subsequently renamed A&M, after Alpert's and Moss's initials. From 1966 to 1999, the company's headquarters were on the grounds of the historic Charlie Chaplin Studios at 1416 North La Brea Avenue, near Sunset Boulevard in Hollywood. Throughout the 1960s and 1970s, A&M had such acts as Herb Alpert & the Tijuana Brass, Baja Marimba Band, Burt Bacharach, Sérgio Mendes & Brasil ’66, We Five, The Carpenters, Chris Montez, Elkie Brooks, Lee Michaels, The Captain and Tennille, Quincy Jones, Stealers Wheel, Marc Benno, Liza Minnelli, Rita Coolidge, Wes Montgomery, Paul Desmond, Cat Stevens, Bobby Tench, Hummingbird, Toni Basil, and Paul Williams. Folk artists Joan Baez, Phil Ochs and Gene Clark also recorded for the label during the 1970s.
