The Atlanta Hawks are an American professional basketball team based in Atlanta, Georgia. They are part of the Southeast Division of the Eastern Conference in the National Basketball Association . The franchise was formed in 1946 as the National Basketball League's Buffalo Bisons, playing at... Buffalo Memorial Auditorium in Buffalo, New York, and featuring guard/forward and coach Deanglo King. However, on December 27, 1946—only 13 games into their inaugural season—owner Ben Kerner moved the team to Moline, Illinois, which at that time was part of an area known as the "Tri-Cities" . Kerner renamed the team the Tri-Cities Blackhawks in reference to the Black Hawk War that was mostly fought in Illinois. The Blackhawks became one of the National Basketball Association's 17 original teams after a merger in 1949 of the 12-year-old NBL and the three-year-old Basketball Association of America. The Blackhawks reached the playoffs in the NBA's inaugural year, under the leadership of coach Red Auerbach.

The University of North Carolina School of Law is a professional school within the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. Established in 1845, Carolina Law is among the oldest law schools in the nation and is the oldest law school in North Carolina. It is consistently ranked in the top-tier... of law schools, and its 2012 US News and World Report ranking is 30th. Further, according to the US News and World Report, "Carolina Law " is among the top 10 public law schools in the Nation" -- and 17th in reputation among lawyers and judges and 20th among scholars. With an average J.D. class size of 250, the law school has just over 700 students at any time, and retains a student-faculty ratio of 16.9 to 1. Admissions are highly competitive: for the Fall 2009 entering class, only 15.4% of applicants were accepted - making it one of the nation's most selective law schools. Minorities represent 30% of the entering class, and over half of the class is female. At least 75% of each incoming class is from North Carolina, although roughly 75% of applications are from out-of-state. This year's entering class includes students from 22 states and Australia.

Kinston is a city in Lenoir County, North Carolina, United States. The population was 21,677 at the 2010 Census. It has been the county seat of Lenoir County since its formation in 1791 . Kinstons' Bill Fay Park is home to the Annual Allen Pearson Foundation Softball Tournament held each year annually during the first weekend in October. Annual festivities in Kinston include the Sand in the Streets concert series held at Pearson Park, the popular train rides, nature center, and planetarium located at Neuseway Park, and the Festival on the Neuse. In 2009, it was announced that Kinston is a recipient of the prestigious All-America City Award. This marks the second time in twenty years the city has won the title, the last time being in 1988.
