The Minnesota Vikings are a professional American football team based in Minneapolis, Minnesota. The Vikings joined the National Football League as an expansion team in 1960, and first took the field for the 1961 season. They currently participate in the North Division of the National Football... Conference ; prior to that the Vikings were in the NFC Central Division, and before that they were in the NFL's Western Conference Central Division. The Vikings play their home games at the Mall of America Field at Hubert H. Humphrey Metrodome in Minneapolis as they have since 1982. While the Vikings continue to play in the same building, the Metrodome has recently been renamed Mall of America Field. From the team's first season in 1961 to 1982, the team had called Metropolitan Stadium in suburban Bloomington home. The Vikings conducted summer training camp at Bemidji State University from 1961–65. In 1966, they moved their training camp to Minnesota State University in Mankato, where it remains to this day. Throughout the Vikings' history, they have had one of the highest winning percentages in the NFL.

St. Cloud is a city in the U.S. state of Minnesota and the largest population center in the state's central region. The population was 65,842 at the 2010 census. It is the county seat of Stearns County. It is named after the city of Saint-Cloud, France , which was named for the 6th-century French... monk Clodoald. Though mostly in Stearns County, the city also extends into Benton County and Sherburne County, and is surrounded by a small metropolitan area, with Waite Park, Sauk Rapids, Sartell, and St. Augusta directly bordering the city, and Foley, Rice, Kimball, Clearwater, Clear Lake, Rockville, St. Joseph, and Cold Spring nearby. With 189,093 residents at the 2010 census, the St. Cloud metropolitan area is the third-largest Minnesota population center, behind Minneapolis-St. Paul and Duluth-Superior, and slightly ahead of Rochester . The population of Fargo-Moorhead is also larger than St. Cloud's or Rochester's, but most of that is in North Dakota, with only 58,999 residents in Minnesota. St. Cloud is located 65 miles northwest of the "Twin Cities" of Minneapolis-St. Paul along Interstate 94, U.S.
