John G. McDonald is a professor at Standford School of Business. He is known internationally for his work on investment in the context of global equity markets. With more than 30 articles published in academic and professional journals on investment management, financial management, and the securities markets, McDonald currently focuses his energy on course and case development in these areas, as well as in entrepreneurial finance, private equity investing and hedge funds. His private equity, venture capital, and principal investing courses cover many topics related to the growth of Silicon... Valley companies, as well as companies around the United States and in emerging markets abroad. He is the Stanford Investors Professor of Finance in the Graduate School of Business at Stanford University, where he has taught since 1968. Professor McDonald has taught M.B.A. courses and executive programs in subject areas including investment management, private equity, venture capital and corporate finance. He currently serves as a director of Scholastic Corporation, Plum Creek Timber Company, Inc. and mutual funds managed by Capital Research and Management Company.
