Hollywood Records is an American record label owned by the Walt Disney Company focused on pop, rock, and film soundtracks. Founded in 1989, upon its launch the label was initially distributed by Elektra Records in the US and Canada. Distribution in North America switched to PolyGram in 1995.... Hollywood Records also released many film soundtracks from films made by Disney or Disney-owned film studios. These days, its roster tends to be heavily made up of young stars and performers prominently featured on the Disney Channel. However established artists such as Duran Duran, Queen, and Danzig also recorded for the label. Today , the label operates as a unit of the Disney Music Group. In 2003, Mammoth Records was integrated into Hollywood Records. In 2010, it absorbed Disney's country music label, Lyric Street Records, subsequently inheriting its roster of acts. In 2010, Hollywood signed alternative rock band Nickelback as a secondary label. Disney Music Group, the umbrella group of Hollywood Records, had a licensing deal with Warner Bros. Records that ended in 2005.

Daylight Records was an American record label, and subsidiary of Sony Music Entertainment operated through Epic Records. Daylight was founded by David Massey in late 2000 as an Epic Records Group label, and has subsequently signed and helped to develop a broad array of artists, in the process... achieving global sales in excess of 20 million records. Daylight also serves as an A&R resource for all the labels within the Sony Music Label Group family, including Columbia Records Group, Epic Records and RED Distribution.

INO Records is an American record label based out of Nashville, Tennessee, specializing in Contemporary Christian music. It is distributed through Sony Records , and has been owned by Integrity Media since 2002. It is also the parent label of SRE Recordings, which concentrates more on Christian rock releases.

Rock music is a genre of popular music that entered the mainstream in the 1950s. It has its roots in 1940s and 1950s rock and roll, rhythm and blues,... country music and also drew on folk music, jazz and classical music. The sound of rock often revolves around the electric guitar, a back beat laid down by a rhythm section of electric bass guitar and drums, and keyboard instruments such as Hammond organ, piano, or, since the 1970s, synthesizers. Along with the guitar or keyboards, saxophone and blues-style harmonica are sometimes used as soloing instruments. In its "purest form", it "has three chords, a strong, insistent back beat, and a catchy melody." In the late 1960s and early 1970s, rock music developed different subgenres. When it was blended with folk music it created folk rock, with blues to create blues-rock and with jazz, to create jazz-rock fusion. In the 1970s, rock incorporated influences from soul, funk, and Latin music. Also in the 1970s, rock developed a number of subgenres, such as soft rock, glam rock, heavy metal, hard rock, progressive rock, and punk rock. Rock subgenres that emerged in the 1980s included new wave, hardcore punk and alternative rock.
