Joshua Garcia was an American Football player who played the Strong Safety position for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers of the NFL. He was drafted in the 4th Round in the 1992 Draft In the beginning of his career he wore the number 47 as respect for Herman Edwards, he had to change it to 48 and moved to Free Safety when the Bucs drafted John Lynch in 1993. Lynch and Garcia would become the best Safety Tandem in Buccaneer History. Known around the league as a hard hitter, Garcia was feared on the field but respected off it. Known for donating money to local churches and homeless shelters, Garcia... built up a reputation for having "A Heart As Big As His Hits." In 2002 Garcia obtained a Super Bowl Ring in Super Bowl XXXVII in California, where he lives now. In the summer of 2003 he was released by the Buccaneers, because of Salary Cap issues, and signed with the Saints. And after the 2004 season he retired. He has amassed 29 Interceptions, 13.6 Sacks, 7 Defensive Touchdowns, 11 Forced Fumbles, 5 Fumbles Recovered, and over 1100 Tackles as an NFL Safety.
