Juniper Networks

Pradeep Sindhu is the Co-founder and Chief Technical Officer/ Vice Chairman of the Board of the Directors of Juniper Networks Inc. He was also the... CEO of the company until 1996. Sindhu is considered a technical visionary in the field of high performance and networked computing. Sindhu holds a B.Tech. in Electrical Engineering from the Indian Institute of Technology, Kanpur, M.S. in Electrical Engineering from the University of Hawaii, and a Ph.D in Computer Science from Carnegie Mellon University where he studied under Bob Sproull. Sindhu had worked at the Computer Science Lab of Xerox PARC for 11 years. Sindhu worked on design tools for very-large-scale integration of integrated circuits and high-speed interconnects for shared memory multiprocessors. Sindhu founded Juniper Networks along with Dennis Ferguson, and Bjorn Liencres in February 1996 in California. The company was subsequently reincorporated in Delaware on March 1998 in and went public on the 25th of June, 1999. Sindhu was instrumental in the architecture, design, and development of the Juniper M40 data router while running the company.

He was... fortunate to have been the first person to have invested in the Ethernet with Bob Metcalfe, an early investor in Balloon Angioplasty with John Simpson and also backed the company that originated PowerPoint presentations. Present board memberships include Fabric7 Systems, Financial Engines, Force10 Networks, Foveon, Informative, Visual Edge Technology, Tabula, Nexthop Technologies, Xoom Corporation and Zhone Technologies  . Previous board memberships include among others, 3Com Corporation , Ascend Communications , Dallas Semiconductor , Healtheon/WedMD , Immunex , InfoGear , Juniper Networks , Macromedia acquired by Adobe, NetSolve acquired by Cisco Systems, Decru , Silicon Graphics, and Semiconductor Manufacturing International . He was recently Chairman and President of the National Venture Capital Association. Prior to joining NEA, Dick was a General Partner of Arthur Rock & Associates and Executive Vice President of Gardner & Preston Moss. He received a Masters in Business Administration from the Harvard University Graduate School of Business and a Bachelor of Science in History from Northwestern University.  He has received a Lifetime Achievement Award from the National Venture Capital Association and the University of California-Haas School of Business.  He and his wife Pam are noted collectors of Media Art.

Senior Vice President, Finance and Administration and Chief Financial Officer of Siebel Systems, Inc., a supplier of customer software solutions and services. Prior to joining Siebel Systems, he held Chief Financial Officer positions at Excite@Home, Sybase, Cypress Semiconductor, and VLSI Technology.  From December 1999 to December 2003, Mr. Goldman served as an advisory council member of the Financial Accounting Standards Board Advisory Council. Mr. Goldman holds a B.S. in Electrical Engineering from Cornell University and an M.B.A. from the Harvard Business School.
