Edward Francis Cline was a screenwriter, actor, writer and director best known for his work with comedians W.C. Fields and Buster Keaton. He was... born in Kenosha, Wisconsin and died in Hollywood. Eddie Cline began working for Mack Sennett's Keystone Studios in 1914 and supported Charlie Chaplin in some of the shorts he made at the studio. At one time he claimed credit for having come up with the idea for the Sennett Bathing Beauties. When Buster Keaton began making his own shorts, after having worked with Roscoe "Fatty" Arbuckle for years, he hired Cline as his co-director. In Keaton's short films Cline and Keaton himself were the only two regular gag men. For Keaton's 1921 short, Hard Luck, Cline is credited with originating Keaton's personal favorite gag from his films. At the end of the film, Keaton dives into a swimming pool which has been emptied of water. Years later he emerges from the hole which his fall created, accompanied by a Chinese wife and two small Chinese-American children. Besides working on most of Keaton's early shorts, Cline co-directed Keaton's first feature, Three Ages .

Don Ameche was an Academy Award winning American actor with a career spanning almost sixty years. After touring in vaudeville, he starred in many... film-biographies, including The Story of Alexander Graham Bell , causing the name Ameche to be used as the slang word for a telephone. He continued to appear on Broadway, as well as on radio and TV, where he was host and commentator for International Showtime, covering circus and ice-shows all over Europe. Ameche remained married to his wife Honore for fifty-four years, and they had six children. Ameche was born Dominic Felix Amici in Kenosha, Wisconsin. His mother, Barbara Etta , was of Scottish, Irish, and German descent, and his father, Felice Ameche, was an immigrant bartender from Italy, born in Montemonaco, Ascoli Piceno, Marche, Italy whose original surname was "Amici." He had three brothers, Umberto , James , and Louis and three sisters, Jane, Elizabeth and Catherine. Ameche attended Marquette University, Loras College and the University of Wisconsin, where his cousin Alan Ameche played football and won the Heisman Trophy in 1954.

John Stephenson is an American actor and voice actor. He has also been credited as John Stevenson. Stephenson has never given any interviews and has... rarely been seen in public. He started his acting career in numerous television shows in the 1950s and into the 1970s, usually in small guest star roles on such shows as: Stephenson had a small part as a man from the State Department in John Wayne's Hellfighters. Stephenson provided the voice for commercials of the era, including spots for Peter Pan Peanut Butter featuring character actor Jesse White.
