Interscope Records is an American record label owned by Universal Music Group that operates as one third of UMG's Interscope-Geffen-A&M label group. Interscope was founded in 1990 by Jimmy Iovine and Interscope Communications' Ted Field with financial support from Atlantic Records . Initially... it was distributed by the Atlantic Records subsidiary East West Records America. A&R Executive John McClain and producer Beau Hill were also part of the original founding team. The original focus of the label was on hip-hop and urban music, but by the mid 90's its range began to expand, to extent where its roster would be as wide ranging to include the industrial rock artist Nine Inch Nails , shock rocker Marilyn Manson, Limp Bizkit, Helmet, No Doubt and later the Latin artist Kings Of Flow in a unique partnership with Los Angeles based indie Latin label. Following UMG's acquisition of PolyGram in 1998, Geffen Records and A&M Records were merged into Interscope.

Runyon Ave. Records is an American hip hop record label under Interscope Records. It was created by D12 members Kon Artis and Kuniva. They named the record label after the street on which they lived, Runyon Avenue in their home city, Detroit, Michigan.

Aftermath Entertainment is an American record label founded by Dr. Dre. It operates as a subsidiary of, and is distributed through, Universal Music Group's Interscope Records. Current acts include Dr. Dre, Eminem, 50 Cent, Slim the Mobster, Kendrick Lamar and Black Hippy, with former acts including... Busta Rhymes, Game, Raekwon, Stat Quo and many others. The labels acts over the years have earned RIAA certifications of platinum or higher on fourteen of its eighteen released albums. Upon his departure from Death Row Records in June 1996, Dr. Dre quickly launched Aftermath Entertainment through Interscope Records. It was founded as a "boutique label" that prides itself on "quality over quantity", focusing on small numbers of high-profile releases. Dr. Dre Presents the Aftermath was released towards the year's end, featuring artists who were amongst the label's first signees .
