Vladimir Malakhov , was a principal dancer with American Ballet Theatre. In 2004 he became the artistic director and first soloist of the... Staatsballett Berlin which was newly formed from the ballets of the three public opera houses. He began his dance training at the age of four at a small ballet school in that region and remained there until continuing his training at the school of the Bolshoi Ballet in Moscow. From age ten on, he was under the tutelage of Peter Pestov and upon graduation in 1986 joined the Moscow Classical Ballet as that company's youngest principal dancer. In 1992, Malakhov joined the Vienna State Opera Ballet as a principal artist and the National Ballet of Canada in 1994. In the spring of 1995 he had his debut with the American Ballet Theatre at the Metropolitan Opera House in New York City. Since that time, he has remained a principal dancer with ABT and has continued to dance principal roles in Vienna as well as the renowned Stuttgart Ballet. Malakhov also appeared quite often as a guest in Berlin where he has recently become Artistic director.

Kateryna Volodymyrivna Bondarenko is a professional female tennis player from Ukraine and a doubles champion at Australian Open 2008. The younger... sister of professional tennis players Valeria and Alona Bondarenko, she was born in Kryvyi Rih, Ukraine, then part of the Soviet Union. She was introduced to tennis by her parents at age 4. She plays right-handed and turned pro in 2000. As of 10 January 2011 she is ranked World No. 89 in singles and World No. 104 in doubles by the Women's Tennis Association. Her career-high rankings in singles and doubles are World No. 29 and World No. 9, respectively. She pulled off the biggest singles win of her career so far at the 2009 Rogers Cup held in Toronto, Canada, by beating Venus Williams, the third seed at that event, in three sets. She has also defeated Ana Ivanović twice in professional matches, as well as in the 2004 Wimbledon Championships girls final; and Elena Dementieva at the 2009 Toray Pan Pacific Open. Bondarenko is coached by her father, Volodymyr and mother, Natalia.
