L.A. Law

Larry Drake is an American actor. Drake was born in Tulsa, Oklahoma, the son of Lorraine, a homemaker, and Raymond Drake, a drafting engineer for an oil company. Drake is best known for his portrayal of developmentally disabled Benny Stulwicz on the television show L.A. Law from 1987 until the... show's end in 1994, for which he won two consecutive Emmy Awards . He returned to the part of Benny in L.A. Law: The Movie, a "reunion" movie aired on NBC in 2002. Drake has appeared in numerous television and film roles, including: Time Quest, Dark Asylum, Paranoid, Bean, Overnight Delivery, The Beast, The Journey of August King, Murder in New Hampshire, Dr. Giggles, Darkman, Darkman II: The Return of Durant, The Taming of the Shrew , American Pie 2, and Dark Night of the Scarecrow. He was also a regular on the 1998 science fiction TV show Prey. Drake provided the voice acting for Pops on Johnny Bravo. In 2007 he co-starred in the made for TV movie Gryphon, a Sci-Fi Pictures original film. Drake married actress Ruth De Sosa in 1989; they divorced in 1991.

Jill Eikenberry is an American film, stage, and television actress. She is best known for her role as lawyer Ann Kelsey in L.A. Law . She has won an Obie Award, been nominated five times for an Emmy Award and four Golden Globes, winning one, and was nominated for a Drama Desk Award in 2011.... Eikenberry was born in New Haven, Connecticut, and was raised in Madison, Wisconsin and St. Joseph and Kansas City, Missouri. She began studies in anthropology at Barnard College but in her second year she auditioned for and was accepted into the Yale School of Drama. She met Michael Tucker at the Arena Stage in Washington, D.C., where they appeared together in The Night Thoreau Spent in Jail and Moonchildren , the latter of which transferred to Broadway in 1972. She married Tucker in 1973 and they settled in New York City. She has a son, Max, and a stepdaughter, actress Allison Tucker . Her first role in film was a minor role in the television movie, They've Killed President Lincoln . Among her early feature films was Between the Lines , directed by Joan Micklin Silver.

Amanda Donohoe is an English film and television actress. She is known for her 1980s relationship with popstar Adam Ant and her later work on television — including L.A. Law and Emmerdale — and her roles in successful movies including Liar, Liar. Donohoe was born in London, the... daughter of Joanna and Ted Donohoe, antique dealers. Amanda has attended The Francis Holland School and also Central School of Speech and Drama. She is of Irish, Russian and Swiss roots. In 1981, Donohoe appeared in the music videos for the songs "Antmusic" and "Stand & Deliver" by Adam and the Ants. She came to the attention of worldwide audiences in 1986, when she was cast opposite Oliver Reed as Lucy Irvine in Nicolas Roeg's Castaway. She followed this up with roles in two Ken Russell films The Lair of the White Worm, based on a Bram Stoker novel, and The Rainbow, based on a D. H. Lawrence novel. Another major film role for her was Liar, Liar opposite Jim Carrey. In February 1991, Donohoe took part in the first of the so-called "lesbian kiss episodes" on American television when her character C. J. Lamb on L.A. Law kissed Abbie Perkins, played by Michele Greene.

Susan Dey is an American actress, known primarily for her roles in film and television. Her more prominent parts came as elder daughter, Laurie Partridge, on the 1970s sitcom The Partridge Family, and as Grace Van Owen, a California assistant district attorney and judge on the dramatic series,... L.A. Law, a role she played from 1986 to 1992. Dey was born Susan Hallock Smith in Pekin, Illinois, the daughter of Gail , a nurse who died of pneumonia when Dey was eight years old, and Robert Smith, a newspaper editor. She adopted her mother's maiden name as her professional name. She graduated from Fox Lane High School in Bedford, New York. Dey was a model before starring as Laurie Partridge in the television series The Partridge Family from 1970–1974. She was 17 years old when she won the part and had no previous acting experience. In a 1977 made-for-television movie, Mary Jane Harper Cried Last Night, Dey portrayed a disturbed young mother with serious psychological problems, who begins to take them out on her toddler daughter. Also in 1977, Dey starred opposite William Katt in a romance film, First Love, directed by Joan Darling.

His father, Cornelius Smits, was a Surinamese immigrant of Dutch descent who managed a screen-printing factory. His mother, Emilina, was a Puerto Rican who worked as a nurse. Smits was raised in a strict devout Roman Catholic family. "Jimmy" is actually the name on his birth certificate, rather than "Jim" or "James." He has two sisters, Yvonne and Diana. He grew up in a working-class neighborhood and spent time in Puerto Rico during his childhood. Smits earned a bachelor's degree from Brooklyn College in 1980 and an MFA from Cornell University in 1982.
