George Rogers House is a private home in Lake Oswego, Oregon, United States. Located at the corner of Durham Street and Wilbur Street, the house was... the home of George Rogers, who donated the land to the City of Lake Oswego that became George Rogers Park. During the time that Lake Oswego was an industrial town, the park was the location of Lake Oswego's China Town district. Built in 1929, the two-story craftsman house was added to the United States National Register of Historic Places listings in 1996.

Linus Carl Pauling was an American chemist, biochemist, peace activist, author, and educator. He was one of the most influential chemists in history... and ranks among the most important scientists of the 20th century. Pauling was among the first scientists to work in the fields of quantum chemistry and molecular biology. Pauling is one of only four individuals to have won more than one Nobel Prize. He is one of only two people awarded Nobel Prizes in different fields , the other being Marie Curie , and the only person awarded two unshared prizes. Pauling was born in Portland, Oregon, as the first-born child of Herman Henry William Pauling and Lucy Isabelle "Belle" Darling . He was named "Linus Carl," in honor of Lucy's father, Linus, and Herman's father, Carl. Herman and Lucy-then 23 and 18 years old, respectively-had met at a dinner party in Condon. Six months later, the two were married. Herman Pauling was descended from Prussian farmers, who had immigrated to a German settlement in Concordia, Missouri.

Julianne Phillips is an American model and actress. She is the ex-wife of Bruce Springsteen. Born in Chicago, Illinois, Phillips was raised in the... Portland suburb of Lake Oswego, Oregon, the daughter of insurance broker, William Phillips, and wife, Ann Phillips. She was the youngest of six children in a Roman Catholic family. Phillips is a graduate of Lake Oswego High School and Brooks College. She began work as a model in Manhattan in the early 1980s. By 1982 she was represented by the Elite Modeling Agency, which characterized her as a "perfect ten package", earning as much as $2,000 a day. She then moved to Los Angeles, where she appeared in a .38 Special music video. This led to her first notable acting roles, in 1984's made-for-TV movies Summer Fantasy and the Robert Urich vehicle His Mistress. She also appears at the end of the Bruce Springsteen music video "Glory Days". Although 11 years younger, Phillips ultimately became best known for being the girlfriend, and later the first wife, of musician, Bruce Springsteen. Phillips met him in October 1984, and they were married in Lake Oswego on May 13, 1985, surrounded by intense media attention.
