Veterans Field is a baseball venue in Laredo, Texas. Built in 1950, the park was formerly known as West Martin Field, but the field's name was... changed to honor the men and women who have served defending America in the armed forces. Home to many teams over the years, it was renovated in 2002, and now seats 5,000 with concessions and two picnic areas. Veterans Field was home to the Laredo Broncos of the United Baseball League. Veterans Field was also the home to the five-time champion Mexican Baseball League team Tecolotes de los Dos Laredos from 1985 to 2003. Veterans Field is also home to the Texas A&M International University Dustdevils college baseball team of the NCAA's Division II Heartland Conference.

Fort McIntosh was a military base in Laredo, Webb County, Texas, that existed from 1849 to 1946. Fort McIntosh was established in 1849 to guard the... Texas frontier at the site of a strategic river crossing. Originally named Camp Crawford, the fort was renamed Fort McIntosh in 1850 in honor of Lieutenant Colonel James Simmons McIntosh, a hero in the Battle of Molino del Rey during the Mexican-American War. The fort was abandoned by Federal troops at the outbreak of the American Civil War. The Battle of Laredo took place near the fort on March 19, 1864, when seventy-two men repelled three attacks from a force of two hundred Federal soldiers sent from Brownsville, Texas On October 23, 1865, the post was re-occupied by federal troops of the 2nd Texas Cavalry. In the late 19th century, Several African American units among them the Tenth Cavalry, the "Buffalo Soldiers", were stationed at Fort McIntosh. During World War I, the fort was used as a training base and saw over 15,000 recruits pass through the gates.

Texas A&M International University Soccer Complex was built in 2006 and renovated in 2007. The soccer complex is located in Laredo, Texas in the... Texas A&M International University campus. The complex has two soccer stadiums with a seating capacity of 4,000 each. The Dustdevil Field is the new home stadium to the 2007 champion team Laredo Heat member of the United Soccer Leagues Premier Development League and the TAMIU Dustdevils women and men's soccer teams member of the Heartland Conference, NCAA Division II.

He is currently a producer in WWE. He was inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame in 2006. Lanza started his career in 1962. In the American Wrestling Association , he teamed with Bobby Duncum and was managed by Bobby Heenan. During his time in the company, his gimmick was that of a Western cowboy. The duo won the AWA World Tag Team Championship on July 23, 1976. In the 1970s, Lanza and Mulligan teamed up to form The Blackjacks. Lanza was a main-eventer when the duo began teaming together. They were managed by Bobby Heenan. In 1975, they joined the WWWF. On August 26, 1975, The Blackjacks defeated Dominic DeNucci and Pat Barrett for the WWWF World Tag Team Championship. The match was a two-out-of-three falls match, and the Blackjacks won the match by winning the first and third falls. As part of his tenure in WWWF, Vince McMahon promised Lanza that he would receive one World singles title shot a month.

Poncho Sanchez , a Mexican-American, is a conguero , Latin jazz band leader, and salsa singer. In 2000, Sanchez and his ensemble won the Grammy Award... for Best Latin Jazz Album for their work on the Concord Picante album Latin Soul. Sanchez has performed with artists Cal Tjader, Mongo Santamaría, Hugh Masekela, Clare Fischer and Tower of Power, among others. The youngest of eleven children, Poncho Sanchez was born in Laredo, Texas. He was reared in Norwalk, California. Growing up, Sanchez was exposed to and influenced by two very different styles of music: Afro-Cuban music by greats such as Tito Puente, and bebop jazz, including the works of Charlie Parker. Originally a guitarist, he discovered his talent for singing during an audition for an R&B band "The Halos" that rehearsed across the street from where he lived with his neighborhood friend Ralph Vasquez then becoming the lead vocalist of the group. Sanchez would later go on to teach himself the flute, drums, and timbales before finally deciding to pursue conga-playing in high school.

Pedro "Pete" Astudillo is a Mexican American songwriter. Astudillo was one of the leaders of the Tejano music scene, and from an early age followed... mariachi and conjunto music. He began his musical career as a backup vocalist for the queen of Tejano, Selena, as a member of Selena y Los Dinos Astudillo also sang two duets with her—1989's "Amame, Quirereme" and 1992's "Siempre Estoy Pensando en Ti", both of which were nominated for Vocal Duo of the Year at the Tejano Music Awards. He co-wrote some of Selena's number one hits such as "Bidi Bidi Bom Bom", "Amor Prohibido", and the BMI award-winners "La Carcacha", "Qué Creias", and "Como la Flor." Astudillo also wrote the song "Estúpido Romántico" that was sung and made popular by Grupo Mazz. As his collaboration with Selena flourished, Astudillo developed as a solo artist as well. In 1992, his debut album Entregate a Mi, which included six songs written by him, was released on EMI Latin. 1993 also saw Astudillo nominated for Male Vocalist and Best Single at the Tejano Music Awards. Also in 1993, he released his next album entitled Como Nadie. This album also had the same winning formula.

In 2008, he lands roles in Love, Pain and Vice Versa and Amar in 2009. In 2010, lands a part in the short film "Mano a Mano," directed by Jose Barrera.

José Antonio Montañez, known as "Monti" , is a singer in the band Menudo. He is Puerto Rican, originally from Caguas, Puerto Rico, but now... lives in Laredo, Webb County, Texas. He graduated from United High School in Laredo, where he was a member of the choir. His band mates were Carlos Olivero, Chris Moy, Emmanuel Vélez Pagán, and José Bordonada Collazo. On the popular TV show "Making Menudo" where the five members of Menudo were placed through a vigorous competitive training process to win their places in the band which was managed by Johnny Wright, Monti is best known for his "Tampico." Monti was the first band member to be picked in the newly reformed "Menudo". Monti has been asked to write a song for FCCLA. It is called "My Dreams" and will be able to be bought from July the 16th. All profits are charitable.
