Lassie is a 1994 adventure family film directed by Daniel Petrie and featuring the fictional collie Lassie. The Turner family moves from the big city to the rural countryside in Virginia, hoping to start a new life. The move creates problems for everyone, especially 13-year old Matt, who feels lost and alone in his new surroundings. But with the help of a stray Collie dog named Lassie that the family takes in, Matt learns to adjust and the two form an unbreakable bond. Lassie was filmed in Tazewell County, Virginia. Lassie was released to mixed reviews. As of June, 2011 based on 8 reviews... has earned Lassie a "fresh" rating of 75% on Rotten Tomatoes. The movie debuted at No.9 at US Box Office.
