Darth Vader, also known as Anakin Skywalker, is a fictional character in the Star Wars saga, appearing as the chief antagonist in the original... trilogy and one of the main protagonists in the prequel films. He appears as Darth Vader, a Dark Lord of the Sith, in the original film trilogy; Return of the Jedi and the subsequent prequel films depict him as Anakin Skywalker, a Jedi Knight who falls to the dark side of the Force. Before his fall to the dark side, Vader fathers both Luke Skywalker and Princess Leia Organa; Luke ultimately redeems his father in Return of the Jedi, and Anakin sacrifices himself to save his son. He was created by George Lucas and numerous actors have portrayed the character, whose appearances span all six Star Wars films, The Clone Wars animated series, video games, novels, literature and comic books. He has also gained a cultural impact in popular culture such as politics and television being commonly regarded as a synonym of evil. His character has even been considered to psychiatrists as a useful example to explain borderline personality disorder to medical students.

An action-adventure game can be defined as a game with a mix of elements from an action game and an adventure game, especially crucial elements like... puzzles.  Action-adventures require many of the same physical skills as action games, but also offer a storyline, numerous characters, an inventory system, dialog, and other features of adventure games.  They are faster-paced than pure adventure games, because they include both physical and conceptual challenges.  Action-adventure games normally include a combination of a series complex story elements made into an audio-visual display for players that is heavily reliant upon the player character's movement which affects the flow of the game.  Some examples of action-adventure games include the The Legend of Zelda, and Tomb Raider series.

LucasArts Entertainment Company, LLC is an American video game developer and publisher. The company was once famous for its innovative line of graphic adventure games, the critical and commercial success of which peaked in the mid 1990s. Today, it publishes games primarily based on the Star Wars... and Indiana Jones franchises. The company was founded in May 1982 as the video game development group of Lucasfilm Limited, the film production company of George Lucas. Lucas wanted his company to branch out into other areas of entertainment, so he cooperated with Atari to produce video games. The first results of this collaboration were unique action games like Ballblazer in 1984, and Rescue on Fractalus!. Beta versions of both games were leaked to pirate bulletin boards exactly one week after Atari had received unprotected copies for a marketing review, and were in wide circulation months before the original release date. In 1984, they were released for the Atari 5200 under the Lucasfilm Games label. Versions for home computers were not released until 1985, by publisher Epyx. Lucasfilm's next two games were Koronis Rift and The Eidolon.
