At NVP, Vab focuses his efforts on systems, services and Internet investments. He serves on the boards of LifeSize Communications, Qumranet, Virtela... Communications and Yatra Online, and has worked closely with Extreme Networks. Other investments include C2C Pte. Ltd., Sonoa Systems, Veveo and Winphoria Networks . Before joining NVP, Vab served Qwest as vice president of emerging technologies, a group he founded. In that position, he was responsible for identifying new networking technologies. He also fostered strategic relationships with start-up companies such as Qtera, Corvis, Sonus Networks, Redback Networks, Siara Systems, Juniper Networks, and Extreme Networks. Earlier, as vice president of IP network engineering and advanced technology, he created and implemented the "Qwest IP Network and Data Center Strategy", designed to enable seamless services with open standards and a strong customer focus. Prior to joining Qwest, Vab worked at Sprint, where he was a principal architect for the Sprint Internet backbone and contributed to the company's IP and optical network strategy. He created the optical Network Strategy which drove the worlds first IP over Sonet and the first IP over DWDM network. He played a key role in the Global One IP network, a venture partnership among France Telecom, Sprint, and Deutsche Telecom. Vab earned a bachelor of science in electrical engineering from George Mason University, Fairfax, Virginia.

Venu Shamapant joined Austin Ventures in 1999 and focuses on the firm's Communications and Semiconductors investment areas. Prior to his arrival,... Venu served as vice president of business development for Telecom Technologies, Inc, following his tenure as engagement manager for McKinsey & Co., and the engineering lead for Mentor Graphics. Venu received his M.B.A. from the Harvard Graduate School of Business, an M.S. in Computer Engineering from the University of Texas at Austin, and a B.S. in Electronics and Communications Engineering from Osmania University, India.

Craig Malloy co-founded LifeSize Communications in January 2003 and currently serves as its CEO. Previously, he was a co-founder and CEO of ViaVideo,... an Austin-based startup launched in September 1996. ViaVideo was purchased by Polycom in 1998, and Craig then served as Senior Vice President and General Manager of Polycom's Video Communication Division for more than four years. His video communications experience dates back to 1994 at VTEL Corporation in Austin. Prior to entering the video communications industry, Craig held a variety of marketing and manufacturing roles at Pfizer and Baxter Inc. From 1983 through 1988, Craig served as a Lieutenant in the United States Navy. Craig earned a Bachelor of Science degree from the United States Naval Academy and a Master of Business Administration from the University of California, Los Angeles.
