Beatriz da Silveira Moreno Batarda is a Portuguese actress named as one of European films 'Shooting Stars' by European Film Promotion in 1998. She... studied Design at IADE Institute in Lisbon and trained in acting at Guidhall School of Music and Drama in London. She was born in London and grew up in Lisbon. She has worked with Lisbon's Cornucópia Company as well as with the Teatro Nacional D.Maria, where she played Berenice, Fedra, Miss Hilda Wangel, Iphygenia and Miss Julie. In 2000, Batarda graduated from London's Guildhall School of Music and Drama with an honours degree in acting. She was awarded a gold medal for Best Actress of the Year and appeared on stage in London in Beyond a Joke by Christopher Morahan and Love Labour's Lost directed by Stephen Unwin. Her first film appearance was in the documentary E Agora Maria? Her credits in film include roles in José Álvaro Morais Peixe Lua and Michael Dowse' It's All Gone Pete Tong. Her television credits include a guest appearance in the US sitcom Relic Hunter, My Family for the BBC and as Annette Forsyte in the remake of Forsyte Saga, Granada Television.

Noah Benjamin Lennox also known as Panda Bear, is an experimental musician and a founding member of Animal Collective, currently based in Lisbon.... Lennox grew up in the Roland Park section of Baltimore, Maryland, and attended high school at Kimberton Waldorf School in Chester County, Pennsylvania. As a child and teenager, he played sports, mainly soccer and basketball. He also studied piano until he was eight, then cello, and later on he sang tenor in his high school chamber choir. Though he and his family have never been very religious, Lennox briefly attended Boston University where he majored in Religion because of his interest "in the concept of God". While a student at the University, Lennox starred in three student short films: Fish Sticks and Fecal Matters, both directed by Andrew Drazek; and Appy Halloween, directed by Black Nasty. As a teen, Lennox began listening to electronic music styles such as house and techno and artists such as Aphex Twin, all of which became a major influence on his later work. He recorded and performed music—solo and with friends.

Amália da Piedade Rodrigues, GCSE, GCIH, , also known as Amália Rodrigues was a Portuguese singer and actress. She was known as the Rainha... do Fado and was most influential in popularizing the fado worldwide. She was one of the most important figures in the genre's development, and enjoyed a 50-year recording and stage career. Amália' performances and choice of repertoire pushed fado's boundaries and helped redefine it and reconfigure it for her and subsequent generations. In effect, Amália wrote the rulebook on what fado could be and on how a female fadista — or fado singer — should perform it, to the extent that she remains an unsurpassable model and an unending source of repertoire for all those who came afterwards. Amália enjoyed an extensive international career between the 1950s and the 1970s, although in an era where such efforts were not as easily quantified as today. She was the main inspiration to other well-known international fado and popular music artists such as Madredeus, Dulce Pontes and Mariza.

Lamont is particularly memorable in his role as the wry, urbane Viceroy in Jean Renoir's The Golden Coach. On television, he was a semi-regular in the series The Texan from 1958 to 1960, and appeared in guest roles in a range of popular British programmes from the 1950s to the 1970s, including The Adventures of Robin Hood, Dixon of Dock Green, Danger Man, The Avengers, Randall and Hopkirk , The Persuaders!, and Doctor Who .

Ernesto Rodrigues is a Portuguese composer, violinist, violist and electronic musician. Rodrigues has been playing the violin for 30 years and in... that time has played all genres of music ranging from contemporary music to free jazz and free improvisation, in the studio and live around the world. He created the record label Creative Sources Recordings in 1999, which mainly concentrates on releasing experimental and electro-acoustic music. He is also known as a painter. As an avant-garde violinist/violist his main interest shifted towards contemporary improvised and new music as well as graphic scores by Gerhard Stäbler, Nikolaus Gerszewski and Phil Niblock. Studies with contemporary composers Eurico Carrapatoso, Emmanuel Nunes and Pedro M. Rocha. The relationship with his instruments is focused in sonic and textural elements as well as the use of extended techniques. Electronic music was an early influence on his approach to violin playing, which challenges traditional romantic concepts of the violin and viola through use of preparations and micro tuning. Silence plays an important and determinant role in his music.

Maria de Medeiros Esteves Vitorino de Almeida, DamSE , better known as Maria de Medeiros , is a Portuguese actress, director, and singer who has been... involved in both European and American film productions. Maria de Medeiros was born in Lisbon, Portugal, the daughter of musician and composer António Vitorino de Almeida. She played her first part on screen at the age of 15. At the age of 18, she moved to France to pursue her acting studies and was a student at the CNSAD. Medeiros speaks French fluently without an accent and has acted extensively on stage and on screen in French productions. She also acts in Spanish, German, and Italian productions. In 2008, Medeiros was nominated for the UNESCO Artist for Peace. Among Medeiros' most memorable film appearances are three early 1990s roles. Her considerable resemblance to Anaïs Nin landed her the primary role in Henry & June , in which she played the author. In 1990, she played the role of Maria in Ken McMullen's film about the rise of the Paris Commune, 1871.

Ana Lúcia Pereira Moniz is a Portuguese singer and actress. Moniz represented Portugal in the Eurovision Song Contest 1996 and has released... three music albums to date. She has also acted in several films, including Love Actually. Ana Lúcia Pereira Moniz was born on September 9, 1976 in Lisbon, Portugal. She is the daughter of two musicians - Carlos Alberto Moniz and Maria do Amparo. Lúcia's musical career began at an early age at the Saint Cecilia Academy of Music in Lisbon. After completing her sixth year of musical school, Moniz traveled as an exchange student to Minnesota in the United States, where she attended Eden Prairie High School. She joined the school's concert choir, where she would go on to be elected best composer at the school for the pieces she had authored during the school year. Upon returning to Portugal she took a course in design, but due to an ongoing quantity of musical requests she ended up quitting. Now 18 years old, Moniz accepted roles in some Portuguese soap operas and plays, thus opening up a career in acting as well as singing.
