Condé Nast has acquired 13 companies and purchased stakes in 3 companies. Condé Nast Publications is an American magazine publishing company based in New York. The company was founded in 1909 by Condé Montrose Nast when he acquired Vogue magazine after the death of its founder, Arthur Baldwin Turnure. Businessman Samuel Irving Newhouse, Sr. purchased a controlling interest in the company in 1959 and merged it into his holding company, Advance Publications. The company is under the control of Samuel Irving Newhouse, Jr., who is the chief executive officer of Advance Publications and its subsidiaries.
