Lone Tree is a Home Rule Municipality in Douglas County, Colorado, United States. The population was 4,873 at the 2000 census. Lone Tree is located at 39°32′56″N 104°53′33″W / 39.548947°N 104.892546°W / 39.548947; -104.892546. It is on the northern border of Douglas County, and directly adjacent to Arapahoe County. It is in what is called the 'south metro' area of Denver, and is a suburb of Denver. According to the United States Census Bureau, the city has a total area of 1.7 square miles , all of it land.
