Los Angeles City College, known as LACC, is a public community college in the East Hollywood section of Los Angeles, California. A part of the Los Angeles Community College District, it is located on Vermont Avenue south of Santa Monica Boulevard. At $36/unit , the college offers university transferable courses and career training in technology, health care, the arts and entertainment, child development, nutrition services, administration of justice and more. The Accrediting Commission for Community and Junior College reaffirmed LACC's accreditation in June 2010. The college also offers a... program known as The Theater Academy, a block program for students pursuing acting, technical side of theater, or costume design. The program is most prominently known for its acting and the alumni which have graduated from the program. The program is a six semester program. The program began in 1929. The Los Angeles City College is the flagship of the Los Angeles Community College District, which comprises nine separate college campuses. The LACC campus was originally a farm outside of Los Angeles, owned by Dennis Sullivan.
