Burt F. Bacharach is an American pianist, composer and music producer. He is known for his popular hit songs and compositions from the mid-1950s... through the 1980s, with lyrics written by Hal David. Many of their hits were produced specifically for, and performed by, Dionne Warwick. Following on with the initial success of this collaboration, Bacharach went on to produce hits with Dusty Springfield, Bobbie Gentry, Jackie DeShannon and others. As of 2006, Bacharach had written 70 Top 40 hits in the U.S., and 52 Top 40 hits in the UK. Burt Bacharach was born in Kansas City, Missouri, but grew up in the Forest Hills section of New York City, graduating from Forest Hills High School in 1946. He is the son of Irma and Bert Bacharach, a well-known syndicated newspaper columnist, and is of German-Jewish descent. Bacharach studied music at McGill University, under Helmut Blume, at the Mannes School of Music, and at the Music Academy of the West in Montecito, California. His composition teachers included Darius Milhaud, Henry Cowell, and Bohuslav Martinů.

Malibu Creek State Park is a California state park in the Santa Monica Mountains near Malibu, in Calabasas. It opened to the public in 1976. Malibu Creek State Park stretches from below Malibu Lake in the west to Piuma Road in the east. It follows the creek down to the Pacific Ocean and includes... the Adamson House and creek's mouth in the Malibu Lagoon at the beach and Pacific Ocean. Tapia Park has recently been incorporated as a subunit of the park. The park includes three natural preserves: The park has diverse plant habitats of coastal sage scrub, chapparal, and California oak woodland. The various native plants and wildflowers are listed in the Flora of the Santa Monica Mountains and Flora of Malibu Creek State Park. The plants in the park's Malibu Lagoon section is listed in the Flora of Malibu Lagoon. The area is habitat for fauna such as: mountain lions, bobcats, mule deer, golden eagles, and southern steelhead. In order to promote steelhead runs, the obsolete 1920s Rindge Dam is slated to be removed from lower Malibu Creek. The majority of the park's lands were donated by Bob Hope.
