Louisiana-Pacific Corporation, commonly known as "LP", is a United States building materials manufacturer. It was founded in 1973 and is currently based in Nashville, Tennessee. LP pioneered the U.S. production of oriented strand board panels. Today, LP is the world’s largest producer of OSB, and manufactures engineered wood building products. LP products are sold to builders and homeowners through building materials distributors and dealers and retail home centers. LP’s engineered wood products include LP SolidStart® Laminated Veneer Lumber , LP SolidStart® Rim Board,... and LP SolidStart® Laminated Strand Lumber . LP’s family of siding products includes LP SmartSide® composite siding and LP CanExel® hardboard products. LP Moulding is a large family of decorative, prefinished and primed interior moulding products. In addition to structural panels, LP offers a full line of value-added products, such as LP TechShield® Radiant Barrier and LP® TopNotch® Sub-Flooring As of 2011, LP has 24 mills including 15 in the U.S., six in Canada, two in Chile and one in Brazil.
