Lydia Lunch

Pigface is an industrial rock supergroup formed in 1990 by Martin Atkins and William Rieflin. Pigface was formed from Ministry's The Mind is a... Terrible Thing to Taste tour, which produced the In Case You Didn't Feel Like Showing Up live album and video. For the tour, Al Jourgensen brought Atkins, Nivek Ogre and Chris Connelly. Also on the tour was Rieflin, regular Ministry drummer at the time. While Atkins enjoyed the dynamic of playing with a second drummer, he felt that the lineup was capable of doing much more than being, what he has frequently called, "a Ministry cover band." Once the tour was over, Atkins and Rieflin decided to continue working together and recruited several of their tourmates from The Mind Is a Terrible Thing to Taste tour. Pigface was born with the intention of keeping a revolving-door style collaboration with many experimentally-minded musicians, many of whom, especially early on, had recorded for the influential industrial music record label Wax Trax!. Trent Reznor was also an early partner, before Nine Inch Nails became a household name.

8-Eyed Spy was a late 1970s No Wave/Post-punk band featuring Lydia Lunch, Jim Sclavunos, Pat Irwin, Michael Paumgardhen and George Scott III. They... covered the Swamp rock classic "Run Through the Jungle" by Creedence Clearwater Revival and Jefferson Airplane's "White Rabbit". Their music was infectiously rhythmic and visceral, using throbbing bass guitar, lugubrious saxophone playing and Lunch's petulant vocals. The band recorded only briefly, and released a live album. 8-Eyed Spy broke up shortly after the death of bass player George Scott III , who died of a heroin overdose. The 8-Eyed Spy recordings featured on Lunch's retrospective album Hysterie open with the instrumental track "Swamp" and features the folksy song "Diddy Wah Diddy" which Lunch adds No Wave effects to by screaming alternated with alienated howling. 8-Eyed Spy was a fusion of Swamp rock and what was at the time, more fashionable No Wave style. In the song "Dead Me, You Beside", Lunch mimics the sharp vocal and lyrical style of No Wave singer Bobby Swope and stop-start "Peter Gunn"-style guitar playing featured in Lunch and Swope's band, Beirut Slump.

My Life with the Thrill Kill Kult is an American electronic industrial rock band originally based out of Chicago, Illinois. Franke Nardiello, and... Marston Daley met in the Spring of 1987 while touring together with the band Ministry. Soon after, Nardiello and Daley began to conceive an art film to be called My Life With The Thrill Kill Kult - a headline taken from a British tabloid Nardiello had noted a few years prior when he lived in London. The film was never completed, but the music they had recorded for its soundtrack appealed to Wax Trax! Records, who released the completed songs as a three-track EP. Dubbing themselves Groovie Mann and Buzz McCoy , they launched My Life With the Thrill Kill Kult. When the first EP sold well, a full length album, I See Good Spirits and I See Bad Spirits, followed in 1988. Both attracted attention from college radio stations and dancefloors, as well as religious groups who balked at the overtly occult imagery in both the music and the artwork of the releases.
