A. Bhimsingh or Bhim Singh was a film maker, producer, editor and writer . He was born on October 15, 1924. His film career started as an assistant editor with the film making duo Krishnan-Panju, in the late 1940s. He became asisstant director and then promoted as director. In his work he never... tried to say anything contrary to the prevalent beliefs and traditions of his audience. His films mainly dealt with family relationships. He made a series of films all of which started with the Tamil syllable pa Pasamalar and Pava Mannippu are notable among them. He hailed from Tirupathi and his mother was a Telugu Brahmin. He had a brother called Hukkum Singh. He was married to Sona, Sister of Krishnan - and Thirumalai and Pattabiraman alias Pattu. He and Sona are survived by 8 children. One of whom is B. Lenin a noted film editor and winner of National Film Award for Best Editing and many other awards. B. Kannan has been the cinematographer of many of Bharathiraja’s masterpieces. Kalyanji Anandji is a name used by Indian composer duo known for its work on Hindi film soundtracks, particularly action potboilers in the 1970s. The... name comes from first names of the Gujarati brothers that formed the duo, Kalyanji Virji Shah and Anandji Virji Shah. Some of their best-known works are Don, Saraswatichandra, Qurbani and Safar. They won the 1975 Filmfare Award for Best Music Director for Kora Kagaz. Kalyanji and Anandji were children of a businessman who migrated from Kutch to Mumbai to start a grocery and provision store. The brothers began to learn music from a music teacher, who taught them in lieu of paying his bills to their father. One of their great-grandparents was a folk musician of some eminence. They spent most of their formative years in the hamlet of Girgaum amidst Marathi and Gujarati environs and among some eminent musical talent that resided in the vicinity. Kalyanji started his career as a musician, with a new electronic instrument called the clavioline. which was used for the famous "Nagin Been," used in the film Nagin which had the music of Hemant Kumar.more
