The Madden NFL 2004 Football with on in-game graphics, visual presentation, and tournament tested gameplay delivers interactive sports gaming experience. The game lets you make pre-snap adjustments to your receiver routes, direct receiver routes during a scramble, direct blocking down field during a run, or read the offense to deliver a crushing tackle. You can hire your own staff, set your teams ticket prices, build your own stadium, reward key players with signing bonuses and boost player attributes in Mini-Camp drills. The play editor lets you design your own plays from scratch or take existing plays and change them to fit your offensive and defensive strategies. Mini-camp drills boost up players during franchise mode in the off season and signing bonuses emulate the NFL's real salary cap system.

The Bottom Line

The 2004 edition of Madden NFL Football includes several changes from the previous year. The new Playmaker Control allows players to quickly change, defensive coverage, and routes before and during the play.

Owner mode offers a deeper set of responsibilities such as relocating your team, setting stadium prices (for food, parking, etc.), and stadium building. In-game visuals have been enhanced with broadcast quality effects to create a smooth transition between on-field play and the play-calling interface. Featuring the series' most realistic player models to date, matching tattoos and hairstyles with real-life NFL players.
