Madden NFL 2005 is an American football video game that was released on August 9, 2004. It features Ravens star linebacker Ray Lewis on the cover. Al Michaels and John Madden return as game commentators. The game is the first Madden game to feature Xbox Live. You have the ability to change teams during Franchise mode, set prices for game tickets and concessions. A trick that can be employed works usually for most players. The user simply changes the position of a player, usually causing his overall rating to heavily decrease. The user trades for that player, who's grade may have been an A+... but now is an F, and changes back to the original position. The same can be done to re-sign players to smaller contracts. Another trick that players can perform to save money for their teams is to create a punter with very high passing stats, as well as low punting stats. The low stats in punting will decrease the player's worth in free agency, so the player can sign him to a very low contract. The player then switches the punter to starting quarterback, and the player will have a high overall "quarterback" for a very low salary.
