Madman

Robert Anthony Rodríguez is an American film director, screenwriter, producer, cinematographer, editor and musician. He shoots and produces many of his films in his native Texas and Mexico. He has directed such films as Desperado, From Dusk till Dawn, The Faculty, Spy Kids, Sin City, Planet... Terror, and Machete. He is a friend and frequent collaborator of filmmaker Quentin Tarantino. Rodríguez was born in San Antonio, Texas, the son of Mexican-American parents Rebecca , a nurse, and Cecilio G. Rodríguez, a salesman. He began his interest in film at age 11 when his father bought one of the first VCRs, which came with a camera. While attending St. Anthony High School, he was commissioned to videotape the school's football games. According to his sister he was fired soon after for shooting them with a cinematic style, getting shots of parents' reactions and the ball traveling through the air instead of shooting the whole play. There he met Carlos Gallardo; they both shot films on video throughout high school and college.

Michael Dalton "Mike" Allred is an American comic book artist and writer most famous for his indie comics creation, Madman. His style is often compared to pop art, as well as commercial and comic art of the 1950s and 1960s. Allred began his career as a TV reporter in Europe, and started drawing... comics in 1989 with the 104-page OGN Dead Air . Following this up with his similarly titled works Graphique Musique and Grafik Muzik , he set out the style that he was to become known for with his most famous character: Madman. The first Madman miniseries debuted from Tundra Publishing in March 1992, and gained higher recognition with its move to Dark Horse Comics in April 1994. Relaunched as Madman Comics, it went on to be nominated for several Harvey Awards. Allred himself gained further mainstream attention with the science-fiction/rock-and-roll comic Red Rocket 7 and his art for writer Peter Milligan's series X-Force, which he began drawing in July 2001, and subsequently became X-Statix after X-Force #128. His more recent works include The Golden Plates, an adaptation of The Book of Mormon.

George Huang is a Taiwanese-American film-maker. In addition to working on his own films, he also frequently contributes work to other independent film-makers, especially Robert Rodríguez. The son of Taiwanese immigrants, George Huang grew up with an avid love of motion pictures. After high... school, he attempted to move from his love of film into something tangible by enrolling in a producing program at the University of Southern California. After graduating, he began working from the bottom-up as an aspiring executive assistant at Columbia Pictures. In 1992, Columbia acquired the distribution rights to the film El Mariachi by Robert Rodríguez. As the film was being prepared for release, Rodriguez struck up a friendship with the young studio assistant with whom he shared a love of film. As Rodriguez, a native and resident of Austin, Texas, had no L.A. residence, he stayed at Huang's apartment. Rodriguez -known for his money-saving/high-quality filmmaking techniques- was amazed by Huang's blasé attitude toward the way his superiors spent millions and millions on the production of a single motion picture.
