Julian Alexander Kitchener-Fellowes, Baron Fellowes of West Stafford, DL , known professionally as Julian Fellowes, is an English actor, novelist,... film director and screenwriter, as well as a Conservative peer. Fellowes was born in Cairo, Egypt, the youngest son of Olwen and Peregrine Edward Launcelot Fellowes, a diplomat and Arabist who campaigned to have Haile Selassie restored to his throne during World War II. His childhood home was in Wetherby Place in South Kensington. Fellowes was educated at several private schools in Britain: firstly at Wetherby School ; followed by St. Philip's, a Roman Catholic pre-preparatory school, also in Wetherby Place; and lastly at the Catholic public school Ampleforth College. He went up to Magdalene College, University of Cambridge where he was a member of Footlights, followed by the Webber Douglas Academy of Dramatic Art . Fellowes moved to Los Angeles in 1981 and played a number of small TV roles for the next two years.

Michael Cormac "Mike" Newell is an English director and producer of motion pictures for the screen and for television. After the release of Harry... Potter and the Goblet of Fire in 2005, Newell became the third most commercially successful British director in recent years as confirmed by the UK Film Council in their 2010 Statistical Yearbook. Newell won the BAFTA Award for Best Direction in 1994 for Four Weddings and a Funeral. Newell was born in St Albans, Hertfordshire, the son of amateur actors. Newell was educated at St Albans School and Magdalene College, Cambridge. He then attended a three year training course at Granada Television, with the intention of entering the theatre. Newell directed various British TV shows from the 1960s onwards , credited as Cormac Newell, and Big Breadwinner Hog. However, he eventually graduated into film direction and then he went on to make the horror film The Awakening and Bad Blood about a New Zealand mass murderer. His first film was The Man in the Iron Mask , made for TV.

Sir Michael Scudamore Redgrave, CBE was an English stage and film actor, director, manager and author. Redgrave was born in Bristol,... Gloucestershire, England, the son of the silent film actor Roy Redgrave and the actress Margaret Scudamore. He never knew his father, who left when Michael was only six months old to pursue a career in Australia. His mother subsequently married Captain James Anderson, a tea planter, but Redgrave greatly disliked his stepfather. He studied at Clifton College and Magdalene College, Cambridge. He was a schoolmaster at Cranleigh School in Surrey before becoming an actor in 1934. There he directed the boys in Hamlet, King Lear and The Tempest, but managed to play all the leading roles himself. The 'Redgrave Room' at the school was later named after him. In the new Guildford School of Acting building which opened in January 2010, there is the Sir Michael Redgrave studio. Redgrave made his first professional appearance at the Liverpool Playhouse on 30 August 1934 as Roy Darwin in Counsellor-at-Law , then spent two years with its Liverpool Repertory Company where he met his future wife Rachel Kempson.
