The Milwaukee Brewers are a professional baseball team based in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. The team is a member of the Central Division of Major League Baseball's National League and plays its home games at Miller Park. The team is so named because of the city's association with the brewing industry.... Originating in Seattle, Washington, as the Seattle Pilots, the club played for one season in 1969 before being acquired in bankruptcy court by current MLB Commissioner Bud Selig and then moved to Milwaukee. The Brewers were part of the American League from their creation as an expansion club in 1969 through the 1997 season, after which they moved to the National League Central Division. Milwaukee had previously been a National League city when its team was the Milwaukee Braves . In 1982, Milwaukee won the American League East Division and the American League Pennant, earning their only World Series appearance to date. In the Series, they lost to the St. Louis Cardinals, four games to three. In 2008, the Brewers achieved their first postseason berth in the 26 years since their World Series appearance as the wildcard team in the National League.

Carmichael is a census-designated place in Sacramento County, California, United States. It is part of the Sacramento–Arden-Arcade–Roseville Metropolitan Statistical Area. The population was 61,762 at the 2010 census, up from 49,742 at the 2000 census. Carmichael is located at... 38°38′22″N 121°19′17″W / 38.63944°N 121.32139°W / 38.63944; -121.32139 . According to the United States Census Bureau, the CDP has a total area of 13.8 square miles , of which, 13.5 square miles of it is land and 0.3 square miles of it is water. There have been several subsurface releases of hazardous materials in Carmichael. Daniel W. Carmichael came to California in 1885. In 1909, he developed Carmichael Colony No. I, 2,000 acres of what was once part of the Rancho San Juan Mexican land grant. Carmichael later bought another 1,000 acres previously part of the Rancho Del Paso Mexican land grant, that he called Carmichael Colony No. 2. It bordered the first colony to the east and Walnut Avenue to the west; the southern boundary was Arden Way with Sutter Avenue to the north.
