Marion is a town in Smyth County, Virginia, United States. The population was 5,968 at the 2010 census. It is the county seat of Smyth County. The town is named for American Revolutionary War officer Francis Marion. Marion is one of only a few towns to receive designation as an official Virginia Main Street Community and National Main Street Community.
