Master P

TRU are an American hip hop group from Richmond to New Orleans, which originally consisted of Master P, C-Murder, Silkk the Shocker, King George,... Big Ed, Cali G, Sonya C, Chilee Powdah and Milkman, before being shortened to just Master P, C-Murder and Silkk the Shocker. The group's first two releases, 1992's Understanding the Criminal Mind and 1993's Who's Da Killer?, were released independently through In-a-minute Records. In 1995, the group was shortened to include just the three Miller brothers and the trio released their third album True on No Limit Records, which was just getting started. It was followed by TRU 2 Da Game in 1997. In Silkk The Shocker's Charge It 2 Da Game it was revealed that a new TRU album was coming soon titled "Tru Niggaz". However, that album was never mentioned again and Da Crime Family was released in 1999. However by 2003 No Limit had fallen on hard times and was shut down. TRU returned in 2004 on Koch Records, released their sixth album, The Troof. Early in 2012 after an 8 year hiatus Master P announced that he would be reforming the legendary rap group due to an incredible demand from fans worldwide.

No Limit Records was an American hip-hop record label that was founded in 1990 by rapper and entrepreneur Percy "Master P" Miller. The label's albums were distributed by Priority Records. Percy Miller began his career by distributing his records through a small San Francisco Bay Area record label,... "No Limit Record Shop", which started out in Richmond, where his mother resided. Despite being on the West Coast, he maintained his connections to the South through his father who remained in New Orleans. He signed his friends E-A-Ski & CMT, then-girlfriend Sonya C, King George, Big Ed, and Lil Ric. Master P then joined his two younger brothers, Silkk the Shocker and C-Murder , as the hip-hop trio TRU. During the early 1990s, Master P released many solo albums with little success. However, Miller was able to garner notoriety for himself and the fledgling No Limit label on the West Coast by collaborating with various artists on compilation albums such as West Coast Bad Boyz 1 & 2. By 1994, the label was on the rise, and Master P decided the time was right to expand the product.

E1 Music , the primary subsidiary of E1 Entertainment LP, is an independent record label in the United States. It is also distributed by the Universal Music Group in Europe under the name E1 Universal. On January 22, 2009, Koch Records was officially branded as "E1 Music" by parent company... Entertainment One. E1 Music was formed in May 1999 as "Koch Records" to serve as the North American umbrella for E1 Entertainment's labels . They would sign many country, classical, and rock acts including, Cledus T. Judd, Ringo Starr, Joan Baez, Chris Brubeck, Bob James, and an exclusive distribution with Suge Knight's embattled Death Row Records. The label soon began to gain ground on the other independent record labels in the United States. In the 2000s, they began to sign more hip hop acts and become one of the biggest hip hop labels in the world. They signed various distribution deals with labels like Open Bar Entertainment, Terror Squad, D-Block Records, and others. In 2004, they were able to sign a deal with Snoop Dogg and his Doggystyle Records along with Mobb Deep.

Black Don acts as CEO while Lil D is the current president. Guttar Music Entertainment was founded by American rapper P. Miller and his... son, rapper Romeo Miller, in 2005 when No Limit Records was bought by Miller's brother, Silkk the Shocker. Guttar Music is the parent company of No Limit Records. It was established in 2005 and has so far released 4 studio albums and a few mixtapes. As of 2007 Master P has passed down Guttar Music Entertainment to his nephews Blak Don & Lil' D. Guttar Music also releases straight-to-DVD movies. The movies mostly star the artists on Gutttar Music.
