Estadio Azteca is a stadium in Santa Ursula, Mexico City, Mexico. It is the official home stadium of the Mexico national football team and the... Mexican team Club América. The stadium was the venue for football soccer in the 1968 Summer Olympics. In the 1970 World Cup final, Brazil defeated Italy 4:1 and in the 1986 World Cup final, Argentina defeated West Germany 3:2 . It also hosted the 1986 quarter-final between Argentina and England in which Diego Maradona scored both the "Hand of God goal" and the "Goal of the Century". The stadium also hosted the "Game of the Century", when Italy defeated West Germany 4-3 in extra time in one of the 1970 semifinals. With a capacity of 105,064, it is the largest stadium in Latin America, fifth largest in the world and the largest soccer-specific stadium in the world. The opening game was between Club América and Torino F.C. on May 26, 1966, with seats for 107,494 spectators. The first goal was scored by Brazilian Arlindo Dos Santos Cruz and the second one by Brazilian José Alves "Zague"; later, the Italians tied the game, which ended 2-2.

El Ángel de la Independencia , most commonly known by the shortened name El Ángel and officially known as Columna de la Independencia, is a... victory column located on a roundabout over Paseo de la Reforma in downtown Mexico City. El Ángel was built to commemorate the centennial of the beginning of Mexico's War of Independence, celebrated in 1910. In later years it was made into a mausoleum for the most important heroes of that war. It is one of the most recognizable landmarks in Mexico City, and it has become a focal point for both celebration or protest. It bears a resemblance to the July Column in Paris and the Victory Column in Berlin. The base of the column is quadrangular with each vertex featuring a bronze sculpture symbolizing Law, War, Justice and Peace. Originally there were nine steps leading to the base, but due to the sinking of the ground fourteen more steps were added. On the main face of the base, which faces downtown Mexico City, there is an inscription reading La Nación a los Héroes de la Independencia .

The Estadio Azul, is a 35,000-seat stadium located in Mexico City. This sports facility is currently used for association football matches and... previously for American football. It is the home of Mexican football club Cruz Azul; it has been also home for Atlante F.C. and several home matches of the Mexico national football team, especially in the early 1990s. Both times when Mexico hosted the World Cup, Estadio Azul did not host any games mainly due to the age of the structure, the bad parking facilities and the complex traffic patterns. A peculiarity of this stadium is that it is built as a pit; the playing field is below street level. Another oddity is that just beside the stadium is the Plaza México, the world's largest bullring. Following the arrival of Cruz Azul, there have been many renovations to make the stadium safer, comfortable and appropriate to the needs of viewers.

Foro Sol is a sports and concerts venue built in 1993 inside the Autódromo Hermanos Rodríguez in eastern Mexico City. It is located... 10 minutes away from the Mexico City International Airport and is operated by Grupo CIE. The venue was originally built simply for staging large music concerts. Initially called the Autódromo, it could accommodate up to 50,000 people. Since 2000, it has been used as a baseball stadium as well, because the only other major baseball stadium in Mexico City was demolished to build a shopping mall . It is home to the Diablos Rojos del México, a Mexican Baseball League team, and hosted Pool B of the 2009 World Baseball Classic March 8–12, 2009. Its name comes from a popular beer brand of the Cervecería Cuauhtémoc Moctezuma group. Foro Sol can be considered second in capacity for large concert attendance in Mexico City after the aging, but very functional, Estadio Azteca which has a capacity of 105,064. The venue is the host of Vive Latino, an annual three day rock music festival.

The Museo Soumaya is a private museum in Mexico City with free admission. It is owned by the Carlos Slim Foundation and contains the extensive art,... religious relics, historical documents, and coin collection of Carlos Slim and his late wife Soumaya, after whom the museum was named. The museum holds works by many of the best known European artists from the 15th to the 20th century. It contains a large collection of casts of sculptures by Auguste Rodin. The museum was founded in 1994. In 2011 it opened a new location which cost over $70 million to build. The new building, a shiny silver cloud-like structure reminiscent of a Rodin sculpture, was designed by the Mexican architect Fernando Romero, who is married to a daughter of Carlos Slim, and engineered with Ove Arup and Frank Gehry. The Museo Soumaya has a collection of over 66,000 pieces of art. The majority of the art consists of European works from the 15th to the 20th century. It also holds Mexican art, religious relics, and historical documents and coins. The museum contains the world's largest collection of pre-Hispanic and colonial era coins.

Ricardo Gonzalo Pedro Montalbán y Merino, KSG was a Mexican radio, television, theatre and film actor. He had a career spanning six decades ... and many notable roles. During the mid-1970s, Montalbán was notable as the spokesman in automobile advertisements for the Chrysler Cordoba, in which he famously extolled the "soft Corinthian leather" used for its interior. He also advertised the Chrysler New Yorker. From 1977 to 1984, he became famous as Mr. Roarke the main star in the television series Fantasy Island. He played Khan Noonien Singh in both the 1967 episode "Space Seed" of the first season of the original Star Trek series, and the 1982 film Star Trek II: The Wrath of Khan. He won an Emmy Award in 1978 for his role in the miniseries How the West Was Won and a Lifetime Achievement Award from the Screen Actors Guild in 1993. Into his 80s, he continued to perform, often providing voices for animated films and commercials, and appearing in several Spy Kids films as "Grandfather Valentin".

Vicente Fox Quesada is a Mexican former politician who served as President of Mexico from 1 December 2000 to 30 November 2006 and currently serves... as co-President of the Centrist Democrat International, an international organization of Christian democratic political parties. Fox was elected President of Mexico in the 2000 presidential election, a historically significant election that made him the first president elected from an opposition party since Francisco I. Madero in 1910 and the first one in 71 years to defeat, with 42 percent of the vote, the then-dominant Institutional Revolutionary Party . After serving as president of Mexico for six years, President Fox returned to his home state of Guanajuato, where he resides with his wife and family. Since leaving the presidency, Vicente Fox has been involved in public speaking and the construction of the Vicente Fox Center of Studies, Library and Museum. Fox is a member of the Club of Madrid, an independent non-profit organization composed of 81 democratic former Presidents and Prime Ministers from 57 different countries.

Roberto Gómez Bolaños is a Mexican writer, actor, director, comedian, humorist, songwriter, poet and philosopher. He is best known by his... stage name Chespirito . Before becoming an actor, Gómez was an amateur boxer. He studied Engineering at the Universidad Nacional Autónoma de México . He wrote a number of plays, and contributed dialogue for scripts of films and television shows in Mexico, as well as some character acting work before he became famous. His stage name of Chespirito was given by a producer during Gómez Bolaños' first years as a writer and was concocted from the diminutive form of the Spanish pronunciation of the name of William Shakespeare or Shakespierito, meaning "Little Shakespeare" or "Little Shakespeare Boy". Chespirito was discovered as an actor while he was waiting in line to apply for a job as a writer and soon he began writing and starring in his children comedy shows. He continuously starred in shows on Mexican television from 1970 to 1995 and became well known throughout the entire world, mainly in Latin America.

Angélica Vale is a Mexican actress, singer and comedienne, known also as the daughter of Angélica María, "La Novia de Mexico" , and... as the daughter of comedian Raul Vale. She has been working as an actress for almost 30 years, but achieved fame in 2006 when she became the protagonist of La Fea Más Bella , a Mexican telenovela, with her real life mother. She currently stars in No me hallo as Luchita Guerra a young women with a big dream of becoming a singer. As a child, in the movie El Gran Triunfo in 1981, Vale portrayed the daughter of Mexican superstar, Rigo Tovar. From 1982-1986 her family was banned from Televisa due to the launch of the independent production "LUPITA" on the rival TV Azteca network in which she played the title role. All the family members were blacklisted until 1986, year in which Ernesto Alonso intervened on their behalf. He was instrumental in getting the ban lifted, allowing the family to return to work on Televisa's productions.

Carlos Villagrán Eslava is a Mexican comedy actor and former journalist. Villagrán combined both acting and writing at first; he became... known for a character named Quico. He went on to write for a local newspaper in Mexico City. As a writer, he became friends with screenwriter and future co-star Rubén Aguirre. Aguirre was hired by Chespirito to play Professor Jirafales in the upcoming El Chavo del Ocho Televisa television series. Aguirre held a party for family and friends at his house, and Villagrán impressed him after expanding his cheeks out of proportion during one of the party's comic steps. As a matter of a fact, that movement would later become a trademark of the character he'd play in El Chavo. Aguirre recommended Villagrán to Chespirito, and Villagrán was given the Quico character in the show. He also appeared on Chespirito's other hit show, El Chapulín Colorado. Both of Chespirito's shows became major international hits all over Latin America and in the United States, Spain, and other countries. Villagrán acquired great fame with these shows.
