Richard "Mickey" Daniels, Jr. was a juvenile actor. Signed by Hal Roach in 1921, he was, along with fat Joe Cobb, scruffy Jackie Condon, pretty Mary Kornman, and smiling "Sunshine Sammy" , a regular in the popular Our Gang comedies. Richard Daniels Jr. was born October 11, 1914. The red-haired, gap-toothed, freckle-faced, whipper snapper Daniels was one of the lead characters throughout his run in the series from 1922-1926. He was usually paired with Jack Davis, Ernie Morrison, and Mary Kornman. In the earlier short he was often a rival for Mary Kornman's attentions. He first appeared in... the first Our Gang short One Terrible Day in 1922 when he was 8. He was known for his big, distinctive laugh and a gift for physical comedy and timing. Daniels stayed with the series for 4 years until he left the series at 12 in 1926. His last film was the 1926 short Thundering Fleas. After Our Gang, Daniels continued playing bit parts in feature films and comedy shorts throughout 1945, often cast as newsboys. He continued public appearances with co-star Mary Kornman for feature film roles in the 1940s.
