The Denver Broncos are a professional American football team based in Denver, Colorado. They are currently members of the West Division of the American Football Conference in the National Football League. The Broncos began play in 1960 as a charter member of the American Football League and joined... the NFL as part of the AFL–NFL merger of 1970. The Broncos have been a successful franchise, having won 2 Super Bowls and 6 AFC Championships. They play at Sports Authority Field at Mile High, and have 4 players in the Pro Football Hall of Fame: John Elway, Floyd Little, Gary Zimmerman, and Shannon Sharpe. The Denver Broncos were founded on August 14, 1959 when minor league baseball owner Bob Howsam was awarded an American Football League charter franchise. The Broncos won the first-ever AFL game over the Boston Patriots 13–10, on September 9, 1960. On August 5, 1967, they became the first ever AFL team to defeat an NFL team after beating the Detroit Lions 13–7, in a preseason game. However, the Broncos were not successful in the 1960s, compiling a record of 39–97–4 in the league.

Paterson is a city in and the county seat of Passaic County, New Jersey, United States. As of the 2010 United States Census, its population was 146,199, rendering it New Jersey's third largest city and one of the largest cities in the New York City Metropolitan Area, despite a decrease of 3,023... residents from its 2000 Census population of 149,222. In 1791, Alexander Hamilton helped found the Society for the Establishment of Useful Manufactures , which helped encourage the harnessing of energy from the Great Falls of the Passaic River, to secure economic independence from British manufacturers. Paterson, which was founded by the society, became the cradle of the industrial revolution in America. Paterson was named for William Paterson, statesman, signer of the Constitution and Governor of New Jersey who signed the 1792 charter that established the Town of Paterson. Architect, engineer, and city planner Pierre Charles L'Enfant, who had earlier developed the initial plans for Washington, D.C., was the first planner for the SUM project.
